i'm all for it... i could use a little dust and italy now and then... but i'm still an office freak. Also i'd personally think it better to have a more lengthy rotation rather than the standard 10-15 minutes or 15-20 wins thing. I also got hooked on 24/7 office not just because i'm and office freak, but i liked not haveing to load every 10-15 minutes. Just my thoughts. | ||

Well, Office is the only map (Im an office whore:P) i play other then the surf maps. Right now i think i might go for admin on the new roation map, (not sure yet) I guess it would be a good idea, when i need office i will just play FTC 1. I think go for the new rotation map, good idea Alex. I would hate to see ftc2 go, but the change might be the best for FT and the community. Edited Wed Jul 12 2006, 02:23AM |

i think its a great idea, i ve been needing change from my diet of office. ive been trying to come back to surf but ive been busy lately and havent been able to play on anything. i would love to help out and help populate the server. just one question, will The Kamikazi Watermelon be able to use his best gun?? what gun you may ask that kami is good with??? THE AWP!!!!!!!! |

my opinion on the matter is that having a full rotation server will only further divide the community even moreso than it is now. how often do ftc1 regulars play with surf regs? not much. let it be known that i am guilty of this, but im just pointing out an observation. while i agree with what Joker said, having yet another server will serve only to further the separation that exisits between people who like different maps in the fish tank community. dont take this as a thumbs down from me, im just pointing out the obvious side effect. |

I have been waiting for a post like this for a looong time now. I love regular maps, and i don't like office very much, but I am always wanting to play with the officers. I think this would be a great way to play with the people I talk to on the forums who play on office. The people I  . And every week, I wait anxiously for the practice, so I can do just what I said above.Anyway, I really CAN NOT WAIT to see this in action (if that ever happens). The day this comes, is a day going in my scrap book of best days of my life  .

Hey I remembered my password. Kick ass! =D I have always been one to play and leave the bickering and politics to the forum members. But I think it's time to let my opinion be heard. FTC2 is my home. I don't play anywhere else anymore unless I get bounced into FTC1. No offense to FTC1 but I never got a chance to get to know you guys. I originally played on FTC2 because of Caine and Koug, both of which are MIA. I have to admit that I made a butt load of friends since then. I've grown attached to the regs and fellow clan members on FTC2 and if changing the server to rotation means they disappear I'd probably quit all together. I agree that changing FTC2 to a rotation server will even the spread for the community. I just have to say that whatever you end up choosing alex, it's my wish that the FTC2 regs and admins stay with FTC2. It wouldn't be the same without all you guys. |

Here's what I think. I think that we could work it out for FTC2 people like this. Since we would end up scraping FTpractice/scrim, we would be able to get some more slots for the "FT rotation" server. Wouldn't that mean we could increase some FTC1 slots also? The people of FTC2 could migrate to FTR, or simple play at the extended slots of FT1. In short - -FT practice/scrim ditching buys us 10-15 more slots. -Some of those are spent on FTC1, some on FTR -FTC2er's will either play office on FTC1 (with the FTC2er's they love). Or, move to FTR. |

Alex, I think that this is a very interesting and strategic idea you are putting forward here! You know me as one of the biggest FTC fans, and i do not recall playing on FTC2 a lot, it was just not needed. However lately i have been noticing that sometimes i have an erge to play some dust or aztec. If that would be possible through FT communitity i think that the community would only benefit from such an addition (or change). I also think that FT has been around for so long and we have been steadily growing, i think making a rotation server at this time will attract new people to the community and at the same time it would allow regulars and members to stay within the community for all of their CSS needs. I thought about this once when i saw an FTer on a totaly random dust 2 server, and we started talking, and i though to myself " wow we do have neat comunity"

I never really got to know the players very well on FTC2, which is a sad thing, There are many skilled individuals there with good personalities and I in no way look down upon it. At first I was thinking..hmm..a 20 slot server for rotation? But as soon as you mentioned it will possible be 28-32 I became overjoyed. I would love to experience different maps while also feeling at home in a Fish Tank server. I think this will be a big hit because of the good set of rules we have here, and the great admin team. Occasionally I break the TK rule on FTC, and have for the most part controlled my inner beast, that tries to get out and TK someone because they purposely hit you. A few questions if FTC2 does turn into full rotation: This full rotation will have office right? Will AWPs be banned or allowed? Will users be able to vote for the maps they want to play on, or will it just switch without getting the peoples opinions on what to play? I understand you may not be able to answer these right now but I am just glad that you are giving this thought. Sorry about the zombie hassle, maybe one day when I get a better job me and someone else can split the payments and name the server Fish Tank Zombie. I agree with what you said about Surfers and Office people being totally different. I have given surf a try and it doesn't hold my interest. Not to mention my surfing skills aren't up to par. Wow, thanks for all the responses! Many of you have put much time and consideration into your responses and I appreciate that. Some people actually get excited about stats resets. Besides, who says we're resetting stats anyways? I can retain that data if it's a big enough deal to FTC2'ers. Of course, those stats would no longer be for an office server, but who knows... some people might dig that. I'll put adverts on FTC2, and I'll think about making a poll. Good ideas. It was amazing to actually play with some of the surfers that I only I know from forums. Wolf, I know you were close with Caine, were highly recommended as an admin, and an all-around respected regular on FTC2. It's mostly for people like you that inspired me to put so much time and thought into how I approach this potential change. It sucks to feel like I'm pulling the rug out from underneath of you and your friends. I do feel guilty of taking something away when I *really* don't have to do so. This is by no means a punishment or an indication that the admins and regs on FTC2 are not respected or welcome. Keep in mind that I'm offering to make this transition as smooth as possible for active FTC2 admins. Also, FTC1 and FTC2 are pretty much identical as far as admin permissions, no map restarts, weapon restrictions, etc. If FTC2 regs/admins don't mind adding FTC1 to their favorites list then it shouldn't be a huge inconvenience. It doesn't help me much personally as I expect I'll still spend 90% of my drinking, er "playing" time on FTC1. The goal is to give FT'ers more options and hopefully get more people involved in FT as well. It's a calculated risk because we would definitely lose some FTC2 people over this, but I hope the ones that explore the rotation server or migrate to FTC1 would do so out of a desire to stay within our community.Anyways, that does it for the direct replies.
