The goal to keep in mind at all times is that this "new" server should appeal to as many people as possible. This means that we're absolutely not doing a zombie, glass maps, all custom maps, warcraft mod, 24/7 this, or 24/7 that, ad nauseam... Anyways, here are some of the details about which I would like feedback. Name: What the hell do we call this thing? I'm not very good when it comes to this. Something simple like just "Fish Tank" or "Fish Tank Rotation" should probably do the trick, but I'm definitely open to suggestions from some of our more creative community members.  A good name can really jump out of a server list!Maps: I'm leaning towards all stock maps for now with the option of adding a few well-known customs later if there is a demand for them. Should we have a rotation of maybe 6 popular maps but have many more stock maps votable at the end of the round? Should office be included in the rotation? FYI, I'm ignoring any suggestions for 24/7 anything. Weapons: I say we don't flat-out restrict anything; however, limiting the amount of awp's and autosnipers to something like 2 or 3 per team may be worth doing. Looking forward to hearing what others think about this. FF: I'd rather not run the server than turn FF off.  Player Slots: I'm thinking around 28. Obviously this is one aspect of the server that isn't entirely in my hands. The same equipment used to run FTC and FTC2 both at 20 slots and 66 tic. There will not be two instances of SRCDS on this machine, so 28 slots at 66 tic shouldn't be a problem, but who knows -- I haven't tested it yet. Admins: Lot's of things to work out here... I still plan on giving any FTC2 admin the option of carrying his or her status to this new server, or transferring it to FTC. From what I recall, the frequency of asshats showing up increases exponentially with player slots. When FTC is full in the evenings I don't have much trouble with keeping things under control as long as I have at least one other admin there with me. If this new server hits capacity at 28 slots we'd probably want three or four admins there at once. We're going to need a shitload of admins and I'm not sure the best way to go about this. Perhaps I just need to accept any offer at this point and hope for the best... This is probably going to be the most difficult aspect to organize.  Plugins/Scripts: I'm open to adding subtle scripts and plugins, but nothing that massively alters gameplay. Any suggestions, or should we just leave this alone? Stats: The Psychostats data will remain intact as well as HLstatsX, but what about mani ranks? Someone brought up the point that if we leave mani ranks where they are FTC2'ers that are attached to their stats will probably want to keep playing. Also, mani ranks should probably be reset on FTC as a welcome to any FTC2'ers that want to stick with 24/7 office but are intimidated by having to play 'catch up' with FTC1 stats. This isn't a huge deal since FTC1 mani ranks get reset every few months anyways. FTC2 ranks, however, have been building since last winter. I'm sure there are a few aspects I'm forgetting. Please feel free to bring up anything I've missed or comment on what I have mentioned. Thanks. |

Fish Tank Rotation (FF//18+) I don't know many custom maps, so all the basic maps are fine. I think that 2 awps per team would be more then enough. I don't know about putting a restriction on auto-snipers. FF is absolutly needed. 28-32 slots sounds great. whatever you think is worth the money. I'd be happy to admin FTR =) I like the betting and mugging plugins, but i don't know if those would slow the server down too much. I think we should reset the ranks on both servers and give everyone a chance to restart. But that's just my opinion |

*tear* I'm all for keeping the always secksy name Fish tank Classic 2. I mean what makes it non-classic.. As for the slots 26 is a nice number. As for admins alot is not alwasy the best way to go. Go for dedicated players who play alot of FTC2 rather then jsut anyone to get alot. (*winks* *sends a kiss* * and a beer...*) FTC2!! RIP! Fish Tank Internationl [FF=ON/18+] All Day Breakfast! I suggested the name above because, as you can tell, all the maps are in different countries. dust maps are in the middle east, cs_italy is obviously in italy, cs_assult is in dowtown chicago (or so we are led to bealive), aztec and inferno take place in mexico (aztec somewhere in the mountains, inferno in the city). I put [FF=ON] just to let people know that FF is ON, and 18+ means act mature. I added all day breakfast just because it sounded cool. (would you like some n00b sauce with your roflwaffles? LOL) No custom maps, Leave that for the surf/custom maps server. As for maps, Maybe de_dust or dust 2, cs_italy, de_aztec, cs_assult, de_inferno (i love inferno) 2 awps per team sounds good, one autosniper FF is definatly needed, no FF makes the game seem really fake I think 24 to 26 slots is plenty, 28 is kinda pushing it. i only say this because some maps are good with a lower amount of players, such as the dust maps. i think 14 plaers a team is plenty, I wouldn't go any further over 28 players I can't do anything about admin, i'm not in the clan I like the Counter-Bet plugin, however i think the mugging mod is kinda cheap. If you and someone else are the only two people left in the map, and you decide to kniv, i think it would be kinda cheap to lose all your money. Although, mug-mod is much more rewarding because you have to be pretty damn tricky to et someone with a knife in total chaos situation. Idk, it's up to everyone else i guess I too think that we should reset the ranks, give everyone a fresh start. people taht have been playing for a while could have started off really bad, but are now doing so much better, but they can't show for it because of there past performance if it was low. Fishtank Pub 24/7 Rotation awp restriction/auto restrictions mugging would be kickass plugins would also be a great asset, they really attract the crowds, even though there is a short download. music/sounds would all go over great. I'd be happy to be an admin if you needed one.   .Oh an by the way, i'd go for 32 people. Fish Tank Public or Fish Tank Rotation works... I'd like AWPs/Autos restricted, or if not, 2 or 3 per team like you said would work. Same mods as Office(mugging, betting, etc.). Oh and I want quake sounds! I want quake sounds on Office too. =( As for maps...I'd really just like a stock map rotation. I don't like customs much. Everyone knows the stock maps, so it's easy for both teams to strategize easily, and stuff like that. As for admins, I think you should just take volunteers who you trust(mostly clan members), as long as you know that they'll spend time on the server, and perhaps at designated times. K. |

Name: Fish Tank Rotation. Fish Tank itself is already an out of the blue creative name. But I don't know about the 18+ ..do you think this might turn younger people away from the server? Or maybe it makes more of the younger people want to come, because they feel devilish being under 18 and playing at the server. It may seem small, but the (18+) that is included in the servers name could be powerful enough to have people either enter, or choose not to enter the server. Not everyone under 18 is a jackass. Maps: Stock maps sound good. What's a rotation without office? some people may like a small dose of office without overdoing it. Without a doubt, include office. Also, I don't know if Militia is a custom map or not but it's very good and fun to play on. The only problem with Militia is that it is graphicly powerful and some people may have trouble playing Militia without turning their settings down. I don't know if it's cell shading or what but, Militia is indeed a graphicly demanding map. Weapons: Well not restricting ANYTHING at all for maybe, a week? to try it. If it seems to work okay than you can leave it that way. If it seems too cheap and everyone camps//awps then sure, restrict it to 2 AWPs and 1 AUTO per team. FF: FF all the way! Player Slots: 28 is a very solid number, I like it. Admins: A lot will be necessary. You thought a lot of hackers had to be banned on FTC/FTC2 ? Rotation servers will most likely have 10X more. Not to mention the mass amount of TKing that will be going on in a 28 man server. Plugins/Scripts: Betting and Mugging should be used. To be honest I don't like the !bounty feature. Im not sure if that is included in with the Betting mod but if it comes seperately, not many people use it and I don't think !bounty will be a necessary plugin for the rotation server. Fish Tank PUB [FF/18+] I think having the "pub" really affects the name. Often, groups of clan members go "pubbing" and look for good, solid looking pubs. I think the pub in the name would help alot. Awps - Awps should be allowed. Most people that go pubbing are CAL people who are looking for some free css time, and they DO need to practice their awping as well. I think all admins should have the ability and right to restrict them whenever they feel necesarry, but they can't restrict them right when they get on the server just for the heck of it. Admin - I don't care if I have it or not, I just want to be able to play without ass clowns bothering me, and breaking all the rules. If that requires admin or not, I don't know, I just want it to happen. Plugins/scripts - Listen to Wu. |
