I am instituting a new admin policy. This is in no way official. It is only my own personal policy and this thread is my official warning to the community of this new policy. Before i explain the new policy details i'd like to share why I have adopted these policy additions. Last night I finally had time to play on FTC for a half decent amount of time. It was the first time I've been able to do this since FTC was moved back. What I witnessed was pathetic and downright embarrassing. I witnessed regulars and FT members acting like children and purposely nadeing and team attacking each other. This behavior resulted in multiple complaints. Worse even than the complaints, I personally witnessed 3 people leave the server because of this childish bullshit. I had to ban some people during my stay, and yes even though i like Gl4sd; i support Noskills ban 100% for the reasons above. All of this made me do a little thinking after i left. And so I have decided to crack down. ANY regular who knows the rules and still purposely team attacks, team flashes, smoke spams, or breaks server rules and is a downright annoying jackass will be banned for 15 minutes by me without warning. I will only give warnings to people i believe may not know the rules because they are newer to the server. If you are a regular you know the rules and you have to follow them like everyone else. Being in FT gives absolutely no benefits or leniency, it only assures me that you have been around long enough to know the rules. Furthermore, if i take said action against someone and i hear a regular bitch about not having given their buddy a warning, they will also be banned without warning. As I stated above, they know the rules a warning should not be necessary so you will also be banned for wasting my time bitching about it. Also, if I or another admin have banned you that day and you rejoin and break the rules again or complain about not getting a warning, I will ban you for the day without warning. If i have to ban you so many times that i get annoyed at constantly banning you, I will make it permanent; without warning. Anyone who wants to use their Bullshit "it's all just fun" and "those two play around all the time" excuses can kiss my ass and stop playing on the server if they don't like my policy. Your "FUN" is causing people to leave the server and my job is to do what is best for the server, not what's best for you. The fact is it does not matter whether or not your attacking your buddy. It does not matter whether or not he is ok with it regardless of whether he complains or not. This stupid shit costs us new players and i'm sick of it. |

Population is key right now, and if an FT member or a regular doesn't adhere to the rules, then it is because they are blatantly breaking the rules; No member/regular shouldn't know the basic rules of the server by now. I believe any intentional rule breaking, even if by another admin, needs to be punished with a 15 minute ban. yourdroid wrote ... Banning people for 15 minutes is my version of a kick. I don't kick. Kicking is useless as you can just rretry. I think a "timeout" is much more effective. I said it in my other thread and I'll repeat it here. "I hope you all realize the very small island of isolation you place any person of authority on when you don't help to enforce the rules... or in worse cases... break them yourselves." |

P.S. This is a discussion, a proposal of this nature actually can't be created. For those people who love rules, here's one. BuBBLe GooSe wrote ... 9. That is beyond the scope of the clan, and server operation is up to server owners and operators. Proposals that do not deal with the clan, its members, or its operation will be declared invalid by the membership, and the thread will be closed accordingly. Therefore, the operation of the server will continue in the manner seen fit by the operators and the owners. Not by committee. |

Which reminds me: i need to go start a new thread stating MY new policy: Anyone with a female in their spray will be kicked by me, without warning. why am i not instituting that? because its bullshit. your trying to combat blatant rule breaking by blatantly breaking the rules yourself. wheres the logic in that? your are a fish tank admin and are thus bound by the punishment escalation procedure. |

i understand your point cat... which is why i have the "and" at the beginning of that statement. If they aren't breaking any rules then i won't ban them. and bandito... maybe i should have clarified that point with which you are having disagreement with. I meant that for the people who bitch for 3 or 4 rounds whenever an admin does anything to them or their friends. One comment won't get a ban... but spamming and bitching for multiple rounds will. I thought the Admin Escalation Procedure was just a general guideline, rule of thumb, good suggestion worth following, and sound advice. I didn't realize it was a "Do this or else." document... I don't think any set of rules can replace the discretion of a mature, active and reserved admin. |
