so.... i think i just recognized that i am in fact an alcoholic. I drink too much, i smoke cigars too much and i think that it will in fact hurt me in the future. I don't drink every night but if i had the money to i gurantee you i would. Every time i get drunk lately i have these revalations that i know i'm an alcoholic but i am ok with that. I really don't know if this is a good or bad thing. I drink too much but i'm ok with that as long as i have some intelligence doing it. Honestly i don't go out very often anymore because i would just rather drink with a couple people i like and enjoy being around. The majority of people i just hate because well.... there just stupid. I don't claim myself to be something more intelligent than the next, but fuck there are a lot of stupid fucking people out there and every time i go out i meet more stupid people that intelligent. So i have declined to out into the world to meet the stupid lately. But does this make me an alcoholic or someone who is just above the "dudebro" representation of man. It's not like i don't have the ability to go out and make douchebag friends but i feel that i just have no urge to go do this because i absolutely hate the dudebro's and what they stand for. I would love and intelligent woman but i hate to go look for them because i hate having to deal with the dbags that ensue. I really have no idea where to go with this. I just need an idea where to go from here. And Noskill i really would prefer not hearing the usual don't care about women blah blah blah sex and nothing else because i am one guy who is really not that way no matter how hard someone pushes me. I just need some other idea's on where to go from here.... please keep in mind that i live in a town of 4300 in south dakota so don't ask too much because i'm poor and fuck, i live in south dakota lol.. fml | ||

Do you drink to cover problems, do you drink to relieve stress? Is it a "drug" for you or just a past time with friends? Fuck it, you have lupus. *Naw, but on a serious note, I'm the same way. after a few months of partying I get fed up and I end up telling my friends I quit smoking ciggarettes and marijuana, but I still drink just because, it's just natural. I'm not a puker, I know my tolerance, and I'm actually GOOD at drinking. so why not do it? I normally don't pay for it but when I do a rack of keys is about $8.99 by me. HOW IN THE FUCK CAN YOU BEAT THAT WITHOUT PAYING FOR A KEG?!?! that's right.. you can't. I'd rather be a drinker than a smoker, and I'd rather drink beer than liquor. Most liver transplant patients are alcoholics that drink scotch and shit, when was the last time you saw a liver patient who was just addicted to beer? It's just like anything else, a good balance is necessary. everything in moderation is healthy(in a way..) but if you take things in excess that's when your balance gets fucked up. You're noticing your balance is fucked up, so fix the balance buddy. and p.s. Get rid of your South Dakota fucking excuse. I live in BUMFUCK central New york where there is a farm every 1.2 miles in a town with a population I just learned that is UNDER 400 in the off summer months. how fucking embarrassing is that? -[link]- |

Skittles. You're not an alcoholic. You just like drinking. Your desire to drink may be overwhelming because you're depressed. And you may only be drinking with a couple people because you have matured over the whole "College Party" thing and enjoy just hanging out. You're not a serious alcoholic until you're buying your first case of beer at 9a.m. on a tuesday morning. Trust me, I'm the one who sells alcohol to these people. |

maybe ur an alcoholic, but alcohol is really nice and pretty addicting, doesn't mean your addicted to it. Umm, how often do u drink? P.S. : zero you cant assume that skittle isn't pounding beers by the rack-load. I too worry about my future health, so i quell my worries by limiting my drunken nights from like 3 times a week, to 1, to now about twice a month. Alcohol is pretty bad for you, so if ur worried about your drinking habits then i would advise not drinking for a week or two, and see how ud feel(probably good). Well having been to enough AA meetings and having several alcoholic family members and reading enough literature on the subject there's one major underlying theme. Alcoholism is a disease. It's also incurable, you either are, or you're not. However, how much you drink, when you drink, who you drink with and why you drink none of that determines whether or not you're an alcoholic. The question is HOW do you drink? Do you drink 1 beer, or 2 beers or 6 beers and get a buzz? Or do you drink 6 beers, get a buzz, then drink 6 more, get drunk, and then start doing shots and get fucking plastered fall down shitfaced??? It's all in how you drink and I think it does have a certain extent to do with why you drink also. I mean sure, you had a bad day, you're gonna get shit faced... that's not neccesarily indicative of alcoholism. But if you're drinking simply to get drunk. (which is why I drank) And then continue drinking after you've reach that point. Then odds are, you're an alcoholic and may want to take a serious look at yourself and your life and try to find what it is you're looking for. Because it won't come from a bottle, I'll gaurantee you that. |

Basically the only reason i don't drink every night is because i have no money to do so. As far as how i drink, i drink to get gone. I can't remember a single time in my life that i just had a beer or a mixer and quit. When i drink, i drink alot. Like black out quite often. Especially lately, I've become very fond of whiskey and i don't know if it's whiskey or how much i'm drinking. I don't think i do it as an escape or anything like that thought because i'm confident in myself and i don't have any problems with stress or anything like that. Last night i got hammed and blacked out and didn't know about half the stuff i did until today when my buddies where telling me about it. I've been going back and forth for some time now trying to figure out if i would be considered an alcoholic or not. Sometimes i feel like i am, sometimes now so much. I for sure like the altered state that it puts me in but i don't do any other drugs really. I've never paid for any other drug either. Occasionally will find some painkillers around my house and nom nom them down because i LOVE the buzz. But its never anything to heavy even with that hydrocodones, oxycodones, darvacet etc. Also bandito, no i am not depressed. I very rarely get depressed or stressed about anything so i really don't think that's it. |
