No, Communism is Marxism and so is Socialism. But they are not interchangeable. Both just go against the capitalistic ideals of America. But hey, the New Deal was a socialist deal, After WWII to get back on our feet America implemented some socialist policies to help the economy. Even during the Cold War there were some socialist policies (depending on who was in office). And much worse things going on than building up the economy. We have yet to have a war with a socialist country. Both the USSR and Nazi Germany were Communism (or a Fascist Communism). The closest we've come was Mussolini's Italy, which was a puppet Communism. National Socialist Party = Nazi. But regardless, you know I've hit a button because now you're arguing semantics. Glad to see you accept my argument as valid; I can't see any other reason why you'd try to discredit my definition. |

Um, you just said it yourself, this was a nationalist group, who claimed to be socialists. As far as I know, they only had a few socialist ideas, like social welfare they would give to German citizens considered part of the Aryan race. That doesn't sound very socialist to me... The fact that the "national socialist party" or the Nazi Party, as it's rightfully called, has the word socialist in it, doesn't mean it was socialist. And you try and validate your argument because I asked for sources of America ever fighting a socialist political party. I've yet to see any, all you said was a false statement that communism and socialism are interchangeable, which is a fact they are not. he main fact here is, socialism isn't political, it's an economic system, there are literally no real politics behind it. Communism is a political system that involves its economy, ironically it was meant to be Marxists, but it turned bad back around 1917, during the Russian Revolution. And the only problem that happened there was the Russians trusted the wrong person, a la Lenin, who turned their political regime into "Marxist-Leninism" which then turned into Stalinism. And never once since 1917 had Russia used a socialist economy. So where in my statement had I argued semantics, because what I asked was if we fought something that never existed, a Socialist political party. Edited Wed Oct 14 2009, 06:30PM |
