No problem Rusty. Sorry for the inconvenience.. I hate spoilers as well, like really hate them. I never reveal them. Avatar got good reviews... but i heard mixed stuff... Some things i heard was that it was a ripoff of Pocahontas. Same story just different... movie.. obviously. Its sad how its gaining rep worldwide as becoming the biggest selling movie of all time... Its a crock of shit. Titanic was the best selling movie of all time. But, movie ticket prices were a worldwide average of like 7 bucks back then. Now, Avatar is being spit out everywhere sometimes solely in IMAX. These ticket prices are ranging from $14 to $20 a ticket. That's 2-3 times the ticket prices of Titanic. Yes it may be an awsome movie... but if you did some math comparing prices from 1997 and the box office total to the 2009-10 prices and the box office total then Avatar would rank in at around #30 in the best movie of all time list. Its like 1/3 of the total made by Titanic. Most people don't realize this. Saw this information somewhere else as well. My opinion... Titanic by Box Office was waaaaaaaaaay better. Avatar's "box office" is nothing but bloat from overpriced IMAX tickets. Still... i guess go see it. Edited Sun Jan 17 2010, 01:25AM |

Actually glitch, the group that does all the math does include inflation into their math. Also, I've heard Avatar is more Dances with Wolves meets The Last Samurai. If you haven't seen Dances, I suggest you do, it's amazing. And isn't it funny, that the top 2 box office movies of all time are going to be by James Cameron, coincidence? |

Actually, Dances with Wolves is possibly one of my favorite movies of all time. Im part Cherokee Indian, so i related to the movie in a way. That movie was nothing short of amazing. Me and my father watched it countless of times. And yes, James Cameron is the fuckin man. I will go see avatar when i get the chance... Whether or not its a rip off or inflated, ive heard its still a good movie by majority. Majority can't always be wrong... (even though most people thought Cloverfield was terribad). Actually, i thought Cloverfield was great. People hated it because of the angle of filming. Ok, yea, it was awkward... and yes, people didnt know wtf was going on... but that is why i thought it was an excellent movie. The point was to provide you with a "civilian" point of view if something like that were to happen. They did a great job on that. |

Surprising. Camron won best director (saw that coming) over Clint. Avatar won best film (didn't see coming) over Precious, which got robbed. |
