Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

DEEEEENNNZEEEELLLLL!!!!! (NO SPOILERS) Just saw "The Book of Eli." The movie had nice action, some very gruesome action. The storyline was great but felt lacking in certain parts. It could have gotten more in depth with certain characters as well as creating a stiffer backbone for the reason why they were there in the first place. Still pretty good though. Some of the script could have been done better cuz some parts felt very stale. Quite a few movie references... expected since its written by a PC game writer. Overall, doable. Plus, Denzel speaks those lines and instantly they are legend. The filming, clothes, character portrayal, action, and twists are nothing short of brilliant though. Denzel makes everything awsome. He did very well in this. Not to mention he was trained by Bruce Lee's protege' specifically for this movie... This was like a post-apocalyptic western starring Denzel as Clint Eastwood. A lone walker, total badass, and practically unkillable with God by his side and a shotgun and big fuckin machete' in his hands. He is an old school, old testament prophet who will stop at nothing from protecting the Word of God. If you have a fragile stomach, hate violence and sex, and are opposed to women being treated like objects like the olden days, then dont see it.... Otherwise... I give it an 8 out of 10. Good start to the cinema year. Go see it. Edited Sun Jan 17 2010, 12:06AM |

I like Gary Oldman too although I saw some scenes and was like... "what did they only have enough film for 3 takes and were like... 'ahhhh fuck it this one's good enough!'" | ||

Also, comparing anyone to Clint Eastwood is an auto fail... I've been dreading the day this movie premieres for the pure reason that people struggle to comprehend a good movie from a movie they just really enjoy. There is a big difference. But now I don't have to see it because I know the twist at the end. Now to fill it in with some fight scenes, guns firing, maybe a few explosions, some biblical bullshit dialogue that's probably more lame than not because Denzel is in it, and I'm assuming the film is banking on that big time. But I'll probably end up seeing it...Just pissed you wrote "he turns out to be" in a review... |

If u read the description of the movie... and maybe watched a decent trailer it tells you... Me saying "he turns out to be" is just my way of saying "he is." Bad wording i guess. But don't fear... its not a spoiler. The whole movie is about him and his book (hence the title of the movie). If my review had spoilers i would have mentioned it before hand at the top. It could use some work don't get me wrong, but im not a n00b lol... EDIT: I apologize for saying end twist, but i never said what it was... I'll be sure to prevent that in future reviews... its a working progress. Edited Sun Jan 17 2010, 12:11AM |
