Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I've been listening to more music recently, and I've become curious about the reasons why people listen to the music that they do. Whenever I listen to music, it's to relax. The music helps me think positive thoughts. I rarely listen to music with lyrics -- just stuff that sounds nice. (Some of Aphex Twin's nicer music, Nujabes, etc...) When I listened to a few songs while walking to class today I couldn't help but think about how beautiful the world around us can be. It makes me look around at things -- see things from a new perspective. Why do you listen to music? |

Listen to it to keep my life in rhythm. When I practice parkour, I listen to eminem, drake, kanye. Anything with a good kick in the beat, it helps a ton with movement. When I work out in my room, depending on the workout, it can be either a pick me up, or relaxer (like when working on my hand stands). I also listen to music to pick up new styles and such, since I'm in a band, and I get inspiration all the time, for all sorts of music. But it keeps me in my rhythm. |

I dunno... i always found myself listening to music that matched my mood. Although lately, i have been avoiding listening to depressing music as well as listening to my favorite music while feeling depressed. I dont want my brain to create a relationship between a depressed mood and my favorite music. That would suck. I find myself listening to a lot of Alice in Chains lately. Grunge music oh yea! But more or less i try and listen to stuff based on what im doing. Hanging out is usually trance. Feeling wild is usually some sort of dubstep. Pumped is heavy rock of some sort. And chillin is Alice in Chains. The occasional random genre comes in every now and then. |

And in terms of you listening to relaxing music instead of anything intense... maybe its a subconscious defense mechanism. Your brain is swaying you towards chill music that you enjoy so you can wind down from any kind of "heightened" state of mind. I wish my mind worked like that. My problem is i cant turn my mind off and it goes a mile a second. I think i may have a problem because i find myself drinking a lot more lately cuz its the only thing that slows me down. |

Difficult to say why I listen to music. I'm always listening to it though, when I'm at home I have music playing around the clock. From the moment I wake up, the to moment I fall asleep music has always been there. It does depend on the mood, if not it does change the mood. |

I don't listen to music because I was an allstate player on 2 instruments, state honor band on 1, 1st chair through all 4 years of highschool, was the youngest person in my city symphony, won my highschool talent show twice, and I didn't practice 1 god damned time. Nobody in my position could have accomplished what I did. Nobody believed in me, not even my mom; she didn't listen to me play once, but I had outside recognition because I was good. I traveled to old England, New York, and could have gone to spain if the school had paid for it. I had sex with 2 flutes, a trumpet, and a clarinet, and fooled around with a lot of the other schools too. One time junior year, me, the state's best marching snare, our best trumpet player, and the bassist (who were later all in the same screamo band) walked 3 miles off campus of the university we were gathered at for honor band to a hy-vee where we picked up 3 bawls energy drinks each. A car pulls up and the bassist gets in and gets out with a bag of weed, and a bowl. We smoked all the weed on the 3 mile walk back down the interstate, Get to the university and everyone's marching out to the bus to change clothes for the show that night. We merge in with the line, hide the bawls (because it was illegal at the time) get changed and I play the most beautiful 4 minute solo melody of my life for a crowd of 4,000. Life was great. Then I fell off the wagon when I didn't have enough credits to graduate highschool and all my music opportunities disappeared, scholarships, grants, internships. I went to community college with 16,000 other people, made my way into their first band comprised of 60 members without even playing a note. And you know what happened before I got to play once? A shitty flatmate planted drugs in my room and called the cops, leading me to be expelled. My music career is over. I haven't even been able to bring myself to play my guitar in years. Anytime I hear music I turn it off. Nobody listens to my opinions on music, because who the fuck am I? I don't enjoy music. I hate it. What do I know? |

I think music was created for dancing purposes, as in to get you in a happy mode. lol I guess the music you listen to makes you appreciate your life and your surroundings. Also another thing to think about is listening to foreign music. I don't know the language, but I listen to italian, german, and french music! Who wants a good russian music? I'll post it up, if someone really cares (it's really good ). |
