It's a little odd, but has that classic 1.6 feel. Decent hit detection, I can't really judge the graphics (never gave a shit about them really anyways) and from what I've seen, good hitboxes!!!!!!!!! The maps are nicely detailed, office adds a little more but keeps that classic feeling to it, although my favorite spot to wait on T-side near the two hostages and back hall is a little too small for me to effectively wait by the door. It looks like buckhallnades is still possible though, which is awesome. I really like the crosshairs, too. They're a little more intrusive than the old crosshairs, but they turn red when you're looking at an enemy which is pretty cool and should stop a lot of the FF on competitive servers, or when enemies are kind of hidden. I like the sniper animations too. When you move, the scope is blurred a bit. One of my main drawbacks of CS:S was idiots running around with the scout and shooting accurately when they were still moving. This makes it so you have to concentrate a little more and be slightly more skilled. The hitboxes being a little more "proper" makes the hit detection with them great. Scouting was so fun in Source but was frustrating a lot because of the bad hit detection. I think I have either a 2.5 or 3.0 ratio so far, don't really know how to check your overall stats. Biggest drawback of it is the buy menu. Confusing as shit, have to buy shit in bundles, can't just buy one rifle without getting kevlar, at least, what I have seen. The tracers on the bullets are annoying, and the player models are kind of weird. The in-game menus are going to take some getting used to; they are a little confusing to navigate around into. This is just beta, and I'm sure they'll switch up the server menu a little before they release the game. I'm not big into the whole rotation thing. I like to pick a map and stick with it. Next time I play I'll post some screenshots for you guys to see. |
