I've always had an overbite but straight teeth So when I was 11 or so the dentist says get braces. And I'm like "nahhh Doc I'm good." then he gives me this speech "ohh you'll regret this decision when your older" etc etc. Not gonna lie, maybe around the time I had just started college I wish I didn't have an overbite, but When I chipped my tooth, around 13, that killed any chances of me getting braces in the future. But bitches comment about my smile all day err day, so I'm not stressing it NEmore |

I have an overbite always have. Wtf is it that severe? Mine hasnt affected me at all and i dont plan on fixing it. Edited Tue May 29 2012, 01:15AM |

overbite = top jaw is further forward than bottom jaw (note: normal bite has the top jaw close just over lower jaw). underbite = bottom jaw protrudes beyond the upper jaw. here are two of my xrays, 34 titanium screws and 6 titanium brackets, some all the way up my sinus

My overbite was 90%, quite considerable. I had to get surgery to fix it, 10 teeth pulled, cut off my jaw and cut the chin bone off the jaw then put it all back together with 6 screws. I would recommend the surgery but not the surgeon who did it. 7 years since the surgery and that little divet where your chin goes in then your lip starts, like that little flat section, i still dont have proper feeling there. It constantly feels like someones finger is there. |
