First off, I'm very happy that these forums are still up and running and it's great to see you all again. I know some of you may have a problem with me, and I can't really blame you. I am truly sorry for the drama surrounding me in the past and it was never my intention to cause dissent within the clan. Now, on to the topic. I know this is a weird topic, but I am genuinely curious about this when I have kids of my own because as of right now, I don't have an opinion. Also this is easier to bring up on the internet. I'm sure you've seen weirder threads on these forums (particularly Wu's). I just have a couple of questions. Are you circumcised? Is that what you really wanted? Why do people have it done to begin with? Is it just an unnecessary ritual? Does it have to do with your religion? Finally, would you have your own son circumcised? |

Hallo Maddog Do you know why people think it's healthier? And aren't you infuriated that you didn't even have the option of staying uncircumcised? (Assuming you were a baby when it was done) |

It does not matter to me that I am circumcised. There are many things in life I have to do that I have no choice doing, like getting a job to survive in the real world, having to earn money just to buy food, etc. I'm sure I could survive without any of this, but it's getting harder and harder to do. All I'm saying is, no bacteria gets stuck in my foreskin, my penis looks "prettier", and it doesn't look like a worm. Would I do it to my son? If it keeps him alive longer, sure. Nobody wants a dick infection, right? Besides, is there any real benefit to being uncircumcised? |

The Jewish faith always mandated circumcision as part of their religious faith and bible scriptures interpretations instructing them to do so. This is also true for those of christian beliefs. It was until recently that it was found out that the extra layer of skin that all men are born with becomes very easily infected as guys grow older. Moisture, dead cells, and sometimes bacteria would easily build up in the genital area to form "smegma". Smegma is found in both woman and men and has been shown to be useful to perform certain functions, but due to the entrapment enclosing smegma due to this extra layer of foreskin, males would frequently develop penile bacterial infections from which would lead to much worse consequences. If a bacterial infection is found, then the male has to undergo a very painful medical procedure that involves removing the bacterial infection as well as that extra foreskin, forcing him to have a mandatory circumcision. Due to the frequency of this occurring about 20 to 30 years ago, doctors nowadays advise parents to circumcise their baby at birth because the pain felt being circumcised as a baby is nothing compared to that felt in adulthood, especially if it is infected. Yes, my parents were smart enough to circumcise me, and yes our babies will be circumcised at birth, its the only smart option.  I messaged you Edited Wed May 30 2012, 04:29PM |

If that's true, it means you're forgoing that extra sensitivity to lower the chances of infection. I'm beginning to understand why it's done, but part of me feels like my son should make that decision because it's his life. |
