When I made my initial post, I mentioned the utter hypocrisy of Christians playing violent video games. Appearently, this is an issue they have to deal with everyday. A member of the "Christian Crew" created a thread to get ideas on how to respond to people when they raise the argument "If you're a Christian, then why play violent games?"

Below is the initial post to the thread as well as many members' "responses" to this issue. (Grammar/spelling was not corrected)

Here's the deal gang........I have been asked by many lately this... "How do we answer this question"........ How do you explain Christians playing a game where you KILL PEOPLE??" What we are looking for is a common answer to use....Nothing long and something that we can used quickly in the server to explain...Possibly a bind......I believe the bind allows 50 characters that includes spaces too........Doesn't have to be a bind.....Everyone leave your input/ideas......this effects everyone so please help......

I feel its about intentions. I play for fellowship and fun, not for violence.

I think its funny how people think as Christians we are never to be involved in anything violent or any type of war. Evidentaly these people have never read or heard anything about the Old Testament.

Counter-Strike is played to the point of being considered a sport, are you saying Christians can't play sports?

Counter-Strike is the cleanest and least demonic FPS game out there, what's wrong with friendly competition?

We play FPS game to meet you where youa re at and tell you of the love of Christ, we may never get a chance to see or talk to you in a church.

CS is a game, we're not killing real people, this is for Christian Fellowship.

and since im sure this will tickle all your fancy to let you guys kno [FT]Sin and myself are participating in a local christian groups LAN party its large and open to the public for a small fee of course (bastards), but the best part is there is ofcourse, a CSS tournie. i cant wait to pwn their faces. and then tell them how fucked up i am ( i mean not sober, not personality wise
