What missing money? The 3 guys have 3... the bellboy has 2... the hotel has 25 for a total of 30. If each guy paid 10 originally, they're each getting a dollar back... think about it this way. If they were charged the right price from the beginning. They would have each paid 9... for a total of 27 and the bellboy would have still stolen 2 and there's your 25 dollar room price... |

Hotel gets $25, the bellboy gets $2, the businessmen get $3 = $30, I don't actually see the 'riddle' aspect though. There is no 'missing dollar' because the room only costed $25. Hence they paid $27 (9 x 3) with $2 going to the bellboy which equalls the $25 (for the room) they had to pay. If you have ever tried to split a drinking tab or a bag of weed with friends, then it should all make sense.
