A lot of people think they know what Christmas is. Angles and Jesus's Birth and all kinda nice stuff like that. The truth is Jesus was acully born in The summer not the Winter but the acule date isn't known. Jesus's Birthday was moved to December the 25 to match up with a roman Holiday called Saturn Nelia. It was a Roman holiday were Men would get drunk and give gift to each other. They also spend the day Beating their wives and having sex with one another. It got so bad that eventfully it got outlawed till the Roman catholics Church brought it back as Jesus's Birth day. It also is often put in with a North's Holiday called Yule which is on December the 21 and is used in a lot of Christmas songs. It was one of the 8 Solar Holidays and was to celebrate the Winter solces. Though few people acully celebrated it at all. The whole deal with Santa is acully mostly a German Holiday tradition. Lets start with the Christmas tree. That tradition started off in Germany they used to get one at that time of the year to celebrate Christmas in fact they even wrote "Oh Tanonbon(spelling?)" which means oh fur tree in German. There acully are 12 days of Christmas over there including a day where you put toys in the shoes of the kids and if they are bad they get coal in their shoes and the parents are given Switches (which are branches of a tree) with which the parents are to whip. There were 2 Santas a nice one and a mean one one gave presents and one gave punishment. The fruit cake holds a special day in the German's cake day and there is a day for cookies the ginger bread man being a tradition over there. I could go on but I don't remember enough of the 12 days of Christmas over there. Point being that this is not Christ Birthday a celebration of being together and love and peace on earth. The truth is it was a Holiday about presents and being rowdy and chaos that got banned and reborn with the cover of Jesus's Birth day and he probably hates you for Celebrating it lol. well, I would say that the christains moved the holiday so it was easier for the pagans to convert to catholicism. and you forgot the winter solstice. | ||

IF you didn't want to be smarter then why did you read a topic called "what Christmas really is"? I mean there is a dark secrete behind many holidays most of them are christens changing dates to match up with pagan holidays in order to get more people in the faith. | ||

pocky is right... jesus was born somtime in or near the summer time. i mean think about it... the immaculate conception is when, in september i believe... if jesus was born in december that would make him only 3 months into the pregnancy. | ||

There are other hints as well. The three kings of isreial all left at the same time only once in that year and it was in the summer. Also the winter nites are way to harsh for any sheard to leave his flock in the cold much less be out there sleeping with them. We would have had a dead shepard as the witness lol. | ||
