Was not able to post in the thread below. So i'll put what i think here. Recently there have been a few controversial threads and some people were offended by them. I've heard that Nostie is being punished for making them. Now i was just wondering wtf is the point of a forum if people are going to be punished for the threads they make. Now as far as i know Nostie never said once that he hated black people. He always tried to use facts in his post. People called him a racist. Why? Is it because he said generaly white people are smarter than blacks bacause we are genetically made that way. What's wrong with stating a fact? Nostie wrote... Now i have a question why do people choose to only pick out things that can be twisted out of context. I think that is some bullshit. Bubble Goose's sig....A Drunk posted in chatbox.... -[link] - (i am not trying to seek out goose or a drunk) Wtf, both of these were totally unnecessary. That's just starting confrontation. I thought you all wanted to prevent confrontation!? This doesn't make sense to me. It seems like Nostie tried to stop all the name calling/insulting/ect, but yet you go and try to cause more? Why? The reason I pick on him is because your statement is incorrect. He never posted a fact he posted a opinion or a faith. He has no proof of this clam in the eyes of the scientific community and there for it can not be considered a fact. It also isn't twisting anything at all. racism is saying that one race is better then another which is what he is saying there. That white people are intellectually better from birth then a black person is exactly his claim. This is a racist statement unless there were a fact backing it up. That test that he posted after I finished with that topic is also not proof. You clearly never took psychology if you think that such a thing is. In psychology which is what that kind of test is you can never prove something you can only claim that is has a good correlation. Also the thing about IQ test is that there are more then 1 of them and some of them test different types of intelligence. In the end they are fairly useless. Also a IQ test is bias in a lot of ways which I really don't care to get into but if you want to find out more take intro to psychology in college and they will tell you all about it lol. To top it all off his statement that your Intelligence s based off your brain structure is completely and tonally bullshit. Intelligence is something you learn not something your born with. You might have a gift for understanding it easier but that is something specific form person to person. The reason he is called racist is because he is pushing a beleife that is racist and he is backing it up with poor data and then presenting it as a fact. Personally from reading what I have I think he is misinformed and working off a bad start. I think he is also doing the worst type of data collecting that you can do. He is starting with a bias and ignoring all information that tells him he is wrong and only looking for those that support him. |

The reason he was pushing his opinions was because when you do a debate, and he did this very well considering there was obvious confrontation, you have test the people so hard with your questions and opinions, that they think to themselves deap down. "Wow... Why do I believe that? and how do I back that up myself and not with just knowledge I was told about or heard through rumors. Maybe I should research this a little more before trying to prove a point" something to that matter. And look, everryone burst out and lashed at nostie trying to take the easy way out of a debate and calling him names. Personally, I thought it was hilarious calling him a racist. Tee hee haha. But come on, if you really want to get back at him, PROVE HIM WRONG, thats what he was looking for. (goose's sig was also hilarious  - I only say this because to my knowledge nostie also thought it was comical)Forums are made for a community of people to talk amongst themselves. even MORE so, the philosophy thread was made from people to debate and discuss how they feel on real life issues. Nostie in my opinion did nothing, never said anything offensive other then a few rough opinions, dont feel that as a guest to the community he should be punished. If you feel it necessary, delete the thread and tell the people why you deleted, but why would punishing just nostie do anything? Was bashing him and calling him a racist for his simplistic views that much better? I say we all need to take a mother fucking breath, and move on. If you all get offended that easily, DONT LOOK AT IT!!! that simple. Sorry, but I feel nothing wrong was done here. You give a kid a forum when he obviously loves debating and he shared his views and now people are angry with him. I dont feel that is right. |

Well there is and at the same time there isn't something wrong with what he did. His topic and idea were fine but the statement he made were racist without any fact to back it up which he has to prove if he wishes to make such claims. The fact is we have a policy on every single server ageinst racism so I think that it should be assumed that people wont put up with it on the forums. Some of the people did just call him names and sure that might have been the easy way out of it but in a debate you shouldn't say things that you have no backing for. I think that it should be more of a learning exsperence to not say things if you don't know they are true for a absolute unable to be fought fact. Just for a heads up nostie these things don't count as decisive evidence but might be useful to add to already proven things. 1) Picture or diagrams 2) Anything involving Psychology unless your debate is on a very specific thing like your thing just proves that there is a high likely hood that a white person will score higher then a black person on a IQ test. 3) Other debate (I know you didn't use it but it is a possibility) only works if they proved it in the debate with more then just a few words and speculations. The only thing that really holds any watter is a scientific test or a artical of such a test which directly relates to the topic at hand. In other words for this point you need something specific to the skull size and brain structure of a black and white person not their intelligence. Your right zero the point of a debate is to make the other people evaluate their views on a subject but this isn't something that is really debatable this is a simple matter of it is a fact or it is not a fact. I think people were wise to not buy into a idea without taking any kind of proof to back it up. Remember Nostie when doing any sort of public speech be it debating or talking of the clan's policy then need to take into consideration the audience and the appearance of your speech the effect others will feel form it. The way you say it makes you sound racist so everyone will call you it. If you don't have anything to back it up hold off on the information till you do then you can come off as sounding smart and correct rather then going in a downward spiral till it gets out of hand. |
