Apparently you guys didn't get "jerking off in the mirror"... lol. The film is about Al Gore more than it's about global warming. Al Gore used the film to throw a buch of political cheap shots at Bush, and to say they're not doing enough to solve the problem HE thinks needs to be solved. | ||

If you acully ask scientist and not a dumb ass vice president who is starved for attention then you might find out the person who is ignorant is none other then yourself. Please before you make these kinds of statements read up on both sides of the debate and form a opinion but the fact is global warming isn't a very accepted theory. Most scientist in the field will tell you that is a load of shit but the media saw it as a hot topic and brought it to light. This then made all kinda people speak out on it and caused the current mess we got with people buying into this load of crap. |

Yes, the earth has a normal pattern of heating and warming over time. and 50, 000 years ago, not only 5000 years ago, The earth was barely liveable because of the harsh patterns that it jumped to. High, then extremely cold, it was like living on Mars' climate that it has now. -300 at night, +150 during the day but although we are in a cycle, and at a point where the earth is gonna warm anyways, its not just the earth. Our ozone layer, which has never been effected by these cycles, is getting obliterated. Worse then that, aside from too much CO2 going into the air, the reason most of it is, is because the rain forests, which are HUGE in the cycle of taking CO2, and turning it into plentiful oxygen, are slowly getting chopped down one by one. The rain forests are like the lungs of the earth, thats how much they effect our environment, and they are just going away Im not getting into another arguement like this, because unlike everyone else, I take both sides, and I care more for the entire earth then the people living on it. And dont worry, because if you choose a side, either way you are ignorant, becuase you are automatically opposing the other side. Whatever happens, earth will always come out alive because of God, right christians? |

Zero nice try but acully the ozone was being eaten long before humans existed. It is true we make the problem worse but not by a big enough degree to change weather patterns. Also choosing a side on this issue doesn't make you ignorant. I think choosing both dose since your trying to be on both sides of 2 different theory's that can not coexist. Global warming says that these changes in climet are completely due to the change in level of CO2 and us quickening the loss of ozone. The other is that the world goes though mass climet changes from time to time showing heating and cooling trends. A unified theory of most of the climet change is based on the earth natural climet cycle but a additional influence of humans raising the level of CO2 also effects the current climet trends. that one is more true but that is not both of them but more a third option. If this is what your talking about then you are taking the side that both are partly wrong. As for the rain forest they are a big cause of these problems. Their disappearance also hurts the pursuit of medicen because they find a lot of cure to diseases in there. There are a lot of good reasons to protect them but in the end unless your going to do something about it then I don't see a whole lot of progress being made towards saving it. As for your statement about caring for the earth more then the people living on it I just got 2 things for that. First your living on it so if you care more then everyone living on it then you care more then yourself which ends in a infinite loop and there for is imposable. Second if you have time to sit around talking on the forums and playing counter strike your statement clearly is false. You would be spending all your time fighting for the rain forest and saving baby seals and stuff like that. You can sit here and talk about how much you care about the earth and what the problem is all you like but if you don't do anything to stop it then there is no point in worrying what the problem is to start with. |

I concur nostie. Oh look the world is ending....and my son nearly died. Global warming is a serious issue...like me losing the election. It could KILL all of us....but look at my pretty ranch. Dont know what the pity points were in there for. | ||

It is a very political movie, but also makes you think what a shitty job we've done trying to take care of our planet. But then again, apparently its going to blow up anyway eventually because of the sun or something like that. | ||

I believe that global warming is more than a theory and the effects of it will screw us over in the long run. The movie was a little screwed though. The facts presented were fine and all,,, its just that the film itself was equal parts 'Global warming issues' and 'Gore for president campaigning'. In 2000, Gore was seen as being robotic, monotone and boring. This film showed Gore in a different light, and included bogus scenes of his family farm, his son almost dying and his sister who actually did die from cancer. The movie was by all means, campaign propoganda. He ends the movie with something along the lines of "I believe that we can make changes and I believe in the power of democracy to make changes in our world" which I heard as "Vote for me and I will save the planet from global warming". LoL. Lets face it, the 2008 election is already 'heating up' and with Democrats like Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama, Gore actually stands a chance,,, a rather good chance. |
