Taken from: -[link]- Before anyone jumps on this as "NOT NEW", I know, but still was currious what Dpad readers felt on this topic. Capcom's newest Resident Evil (RE5) is bringing out the critics in droves. RE5 is set in Africa and of course leads the majority of the zombies to be black. Now in RE4 set in Spain and making the zombies hispanic did not seem to cause an uproar but the the black-african zombie is not as lucky. couple of links -[link]- -[link]- -[link]- So Capcom (a Japanese company - not caucasion) are they racist? or is it just another soap box for people to jump on? Ugh. Stuff like this is what gets me angry. It's not racist in the least, considering they've kept the same character the whole way through, so it's not like they specifically made a white guy to fight black people. | ||

kd, those links don't work, I had to go directly to the other forum post. anyway. no, this isn't racist. what if a black guy was gunning down white guys? would people say that thats racist? I don't think so. People are going to take this the wrong way, but there are double standards when it comes to black and white people. |

I don't see that as racist, I mean, I think the white population in africa is about 30%, that means the majority of the plulation are actually black. So how does that not make sense that the zombies are black? stupid people are all looking for reasons to cause uproar. anyway, I decided not to read sierra's post above me not because I'm lazy, I just dobt he has anything really intelligent to say that can change my life! |
