Can't say I've been too into hockey because I'm a life long bruins fan...And they haven't been good almost my entire life, so I just don't watch all that much. But maybe with Cam Neely in the front office, maybe they'll be good one of these years. | ||

i think the Flyers are gonna do better this year with the acquisition of Daniel Briere. Mike Knuble, Him , and Simon Gagne seems like a good scoring line. but i'm all for the Thrashers still.. past couple seasons they've come so clsoe to the playoffs!..THEY HAVE TO GO THIS TIME..EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE |

hey nightrider. im a big hockey fan and since i live in B.C im a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks. i have two luango jerseys and looking to make it three. im in the fantasy pool with my dads work and they are all stupid. about 60 of them so i have one money the past 4 years. prob have made around 1600. i think the sharks and Ottawa with be in the finals. penguins have a great team but still to young. i also think if dave nonis makes a trade for a decent scorer and somebody who can get us goals the vancouver canucks will be up there to. today is the canucks first game and i am stoked. |

First off,,, I DON'T LIKE HOCKEY all that much,,, but being Canadian,,, I'm sorta forced into it. I LOVE sports hilights but it seems like I have to endure 30 mins of 'Coyotes vs Wild' recaps before they even get to NBA scores (which I LOVE). I've always liked Paul Karya (he so sexy), and the league should totally bring back the Winnipeg Jets and reunite him and Teemu (for the 3rd time).  The Top Line in the NHL is STILL,,,, Spezza (who I went to High School with), Heatly (who just signed a fresh 6 yr contract) and Alfredson of the Ottawa Senators. NOTHING can top that first line... period. PERIOD!!! Fuck Crosby and fuck the Flyers wiith Briere... (But the Flyers had a solid team building off season.) Ottawa still has the top line in the league and have built a serious contender. I'd like to see Ottawa out of the East again. Send out the Duck's checking line against them,, but this year it will be futile. (I'd like to see the Ducks hold down the West and have a rematch of last years Cup final. That would be groovy.) Crosby (as well as Malkin) and the Penguins have a long ways to go. In 4-7 yrs,, they 'should' win a CUP, no question,,, but as far as next season goes, with dinosaurs like Rechhi and Roberts,,, no way.. They is OLD as dirt and their young guys haven't even hatched yet. Massive potential though. To get ppl into 'the Igloo' and save 'Mario's legacy', and the team from bankruptcy, fans will show up and have much higher expectations for the Pens then what they are actually capable of... but don't put your money on them past the second round. Last year the DUCKS won the Stanley Cup based on Brute Force, Intimidation and a strong forechecking line. Every team in the league saw this and invited tough guys to training camp to follow the Duck's winning formula from last season. Just look at the amout of pre-season tilts... SOOO MANY FIGHTS. (If a quick speedy team won the Cup last year, training camp would have been full of speedy skaters this time,,,, but it isn't, woohoo hockey fights are pretty badass.) This NHL season will be full of fights, hard checks, low scoring games and OT/Shoot Out winners. Book it. The hockey purists will enjoy the oldschool flavor and hopefully the fights will put fans in the seats because with expectations of lower league-wide goal outputs, fans shouldn't expect too many high scoring games.
