Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

I BET THE TITLE WAS MISLEADING! but seriously now folks. i have a physics 20 final tomorrow. anyone know how to make me understand kinematics quickly? cause i get most of the rest. ...if you still want to see tits, go watch some porn. find it yourselves. i got you guys a cake, i'm not getting you tits as well. |

Kinematics is a branch of classical mechanics which describes the motion of objects without the consideration of the masses or forces that bring about the motion. In contrast, dynamics is concerned with the forces and interactions that produce or affect the motion. Kinematics studies how the position of an object changes with time. Position is measured with respect to a set of coordinates. Velocity is the rate of change of position. Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. The simplest application of kinematics is to point particle motion (translational kinematics or linear kinematics). The description of rotation (rotational kinematics or angular kinematics) is more complicated. The state of a generic rigid body may be described by combining both translational and rotational kinematics (rigid-body kinematics). A more complicated case is the kinematics of a system of rigid bodies, possibly linked together by mechanical joints. The kinematic description of fluid flow is even more complicated, and not generally thought of in the context of kinematics. So basically glitch is the fuckin man, and everyone should know it. Dude kinematics is the science of moving objects. However... like glitch said it doesn't get into the creation of the forces that resulted in said movement. Basically, car A hit's it's brakes here traveling at this speed, how long does it take to stop? You'll probably be ignoring friction at first... it's just adding another coefficient to the equation anyway. I believe Dynamics is just Kinematics while considering how the object changes over time. Or... knowing the objects position at any one point, able to extrapolate the entire possible series of positions, origin, final point, etc. I don't know if you can do Dynamics without Calculus, I know I didn't. It's been a while though so I may be way off. (4 years???) |

ok, thread realignment here: I KNOW WHAT THE FUCKING UNIT ENTAILS! thank you for the kindhearted words except for kami (fuck you?) but what i need is tips to make it sink in. the part that really gets me is projectile motion. any ideas would be really helpful, unless they're like kami's. glas4d is not allowed to post here. dynamics is no problem for me. usually. |

Dude... equations... there is no "sinking in" you need to know how the equations work and how to manipulate them. You don't "absorb" physics. You literally need to just write down all of the formulas, manipulate and then use them. I suggest doing some problems. Projectile motion. From what I remember the first thing you're going to want to do is get the following. g = 9.8m/s^2 or 32f/s^2 (always and forever on this planet at the sea level you'll be dealing with anyway) Mass of object. Angle of launch. Initial Velocity (if possible). With that you can figure out Max Height Range Hangtime Of course nothing is that straight forward but... I mean in every problem you're going to get 3 pieces of the puzzle or two pieces that are the only ones you need (acceleration and angle for example). You can work all of those in and out to get whatever you need. Finding the acceleration though is usually your best first step. With acceleration you can find the time and as a by product the height (or distance). Also if you're having trouble working with the angles break it out into vectors. A projectile will always travel with a constant X velocity. The velocity in the X direction is always the same until it hits something (I doubt you're dealing with wind resistance). Now once you find what it's max height is, just do a 1/2mgh to find how long it would take to hit the ground. Multiply by 2 and you have the total in air time.... LoL I could go on for hours. Give me an example so I can be more specific. Edited Wed Jan 23 2008, 03:50AM |

Sooo. It's pretty much, if you were to throw a baby off a bridge, how fast is it going before it hits the ground..? Or what if, if you launch a 10 pound baby by a rubber sling shot with 200 fps heading towards giant metal spikes, how fast it is going...? | ||
