Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

IT, most IT services include heavy networking and security over anything. aka, any field that heavily involves a computer for it's work other than typing reports and doing excel are programing one way or another. The only other option would be graphic design. Hard to get into it at most major college, minus mine cause we suck. And hard to get a job with. You have to know multiple programs, advertising schemes, and good PR. Not to mention you're lucky if you enter that major as a freshman and get out by senior year, most GD majors take 5 years to complete. Good luck if you want it. Edited Thu Feb 14 2008, 09:15AM |

Being the "computer guy" sucks. You're expected to fix anything that goes wrong with a computer, even when it's a stupid user error since she fucked up the install of Free-Share-Ware-Bungee-Plus-Mega-Fun-Pack. And now her computer "runs like crap". Don't get into computers, these people seem to be the most dull lifeless people you could ever be around. Their stories suck, their job revolves around knowing more about stuff that no one else really cares about, they usually have sub-par social skills otherwise they would of never been interested in computers to begin with, typically they're cynical and think less of people because people don't care enough to do simple things like make backups, clean the dust out and maybe run a spy sweeper once a month. In other words, they're fucking douchebags. There's better ways to make money. Go bartend dude, that'll make you upwards of $40 per hour and you'll me a shitload of people from all walks of life and that should give you some idea as to what you want to do. What state are you in? Usually you take a 40 hour class and pass a test. Honestly, anyone can do it. There's some slight memorization involved but I mean... it's easy as shit. Then you go and you apply at every bar/restaraunt in a 10 mile radius. You'll get hired eventually. |

Bartending is fine if you wanna help people forget instead of furthering the human race through bio engineering (nano machines and whatnot). Whatev, my buddy dropped out of school and now he wants to own a bar (which will probably never happen). Too bad really, he was a genius when it came to math but never had the drive to do anything else. |

Sorry AT no offense to the IT career stricken. I've just met about a dozen or so IT guys and have run across maybe 100 or so who were going into IT... and man... they just sucked... super dorks. Not saying you are but it's been my experience. Also Mad was looking for something easy to do. Usually "furthering the human race" doesn't fall under the category of easy. I'm here to help though, so I reccommended an easy highly profitable alternative. It'll also buy him time and introduce him to a wide variety of people from all professions. It's not a career persay... but it's a great job. Fun too. |
