Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

i mean, i know u guys can't really decide a major for me, but assistance would be appreciated working on my 2nd semester and i can't decide on what i should major in. im looking for whats a fast growing field to look into, for example going into realty and home-ownership a couple years back would have been perfect but isn't now. currently i am a bio-med engineer, which i guess i could do except there are so many f'in hard ass courses to take, which i could do if i must but im looking for something a bit easier. besides its not a job im particularly "excited" about going into. thank you in advance |

put couple majors you like in a hat and shuffle, then take out one without looking in Or you can review what careers you have been introduced to so far and go with whichever was easiest for you. |

IT is projected to grow by 30% within the next ten years (specifically web design and network security). So that's the major I'm in. However Bio engineering is most def going to have huge growth potential in the future, so my suggestion is stick with it if you can. It's a lot easier to find one major and stick to it (even if it is a hard one that you may not particularly like) than it is to jump around to different majors only to find out some of your credits don't transfer and you took a semester's worth of classes for nothing. |

ur fucked. dude, chances are ur gonna change ur major yet again by the end of your 4th semester. Happens 90% of the time. Remember this, pick something u love to do, because u have to get up everyday, and do it. Something your comfortable with. Something you could enjoy, or at least never get tired of. |

Don't go into IT. Your whole job can be done by a well-worded Google search. Personally, I like Secondary Education. It's a really easy major, but you have to deal with a bunch of ideological professors forcing their opinion into every orifice of your body. Like Glitch said though, it really depends on what you want. Money doesn't matter to me, but it might to you, so go to engineering or something like that if you want. Huzzah to me making 30k a year for the rest of my life. |

I did Civil Engineering. Then got a job doing design and sales for a medical equipment company. Try to do what you enjoy. Odds are, your major will only be a portion of your career. If you want to be wildly successful, you're going to need to be good at MANY things. Here's a brief list of my strong points: High level math skills, Strong science background, Persuasive & Consultative Abilities, Both non-formal and formal sales training, Real Estate License, Construction Supervisor's License, Bartender's License. Everyday I read, I'm learning how to do magic tricks right now, before that it was Henry David Thoreau, before that it was drug smuggling, before that was small business improvement, before that it was Shakespeare... the list goes on forever. Look man, just ask yourself, what do you want? What are you willing to do to get it? When will you know when you've "made it"? My goals stop just shy of world domination, you may not be as ambitious. I don't mind giving advice, because hell I wish I had someone giving me advice when I was still young and impressionable, but there's a sense of pride and purpose you get when you figure it out for yourself. Go figure it out for yourself and never be afraid to fail outright. Failures have the best stories and all the sympathy. |

Yeah, what Noskill said except that even though you may necessarily enjoy it, it still might not be the field for you. Most people that have a job hate their job, but they may be good at it. In order for me to answer that question, I would have to know what you are good at doing. For instance, I am interested and already have a limited knowledge of Java scripting, programming, ect. So I am going to school for Computer Information and Sciences or Programming. Then I'm going to minor in Psychology. My strong points are Math and Science, and I can't stand anything else really. So I'm going something technologically oriented. It also depends where you live. Job fields in my area are only at 4 percent, which is why I am only going to go here for two years and then transfer. If you are looking for computer jobs you want to school in the west or move there, because that's where you will most likely find those kinds of jobs. If you are for nursing or biology, your chances are great where I am. And if you are for education, then you wanna go to the south because they have the worst education. You'll start out pretty good down there for teaching. Try taking a few tests that will show you what you are good at. We had tests a couple of times like that in my school which changed as the years went on, but since you are an adult it should be a little more clear to see. |

i considered majoring in psychology and being a physical therapist. i took a couple psychology courses, liked em, and aced em but i was convinced (by other people) that psychology isn't a good field for the future. i was told that most likely i won't be very successful and i can't have that... so i dropped that and the physical therapist idea im still researching about i mean, im takin some intro engineering courses and im not liking it too much. im bad at designing and all i really do is steal other peoples ideas and go from there lol. i considered business but then ill be with the many, many other business majors. well if this helps - im good at math, im good with numbers which is why i was considerin somethin with business. Calculas i can do, but im not particularly talented at it. maybe i should look into accounting.... -strong science, i can do chem, physics, and biology with np -i suck at writing. i hate reading and writing so much....but its unavoible in life (this also conflicts with being a psych major, because i here its a shitload of reading and writing) thas all i can think of for now... heh, at least you arnt me, I have no inkling as to what I want to do. I'm not enrolled currently and have just been working full time. I never really tried throughout school, but I could have managed 4.0's throughout if I applied myself, which I didnt. I probably spent mabye....10 hours studying, in all of highschool. Right now I have four different positions at the same business lol I'm great at English and writing, and have been told I should become a writer, but it doesnt really interest me. Being able to write never seemed special to me, just comes naturally. I'm definently intelligent, and can understand what ever I apply myself towards. Never been a huge fan of math, but I'm sure if I actually wanted to do it I would be good at it. I also dont really care what I do for a career, I see work as just that, work. Everyone says it, but not many people "love" their job. Why? Because its work. Not play. I just want a job that gives me enough finacial security to live how I want. I'll probably stick with a business degree and see where it takes me. If not I may go into personal training, and start my own training business. The whole point of all this, you dont have to be deadset in what ever it is you are going to do. Some of the most successful people out there didnt stick with the usual, 4 year college, on to their career, boom millionaire. /rant while eating lunch |
