Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

The current camping / objective rule in office at the moment seems very vague and is questionable. Admins say you must make an attempt to rescue the hostages etc. However, they often times just let him take his time getting to the hosties. By the time they get all the hosties, they do not have enough time to rescue them on most cases. It takes around 20 seconds from Projecter to garage through backyard just to rescue them. Let alone some people ENTER projecter at the 20 second mark. I am well aware that only operators can change a rule, and it is not up for a vote, hence the reason why this is a discussion. If an OP impliments this, it is soley his decision, not the clans. Here is my suggestion. It would speed the game up a considerable amount if counter terrorists at least ATTEMPTED to get into projecter to rescue the hostages by the 35-40 second mark. Any later then that would not give CT's enough time to rescue the hostages. They only hold the game up. Another suggestion is making it a requirement that all the hostages be rescued. Right now, I know people like Squad Team (I opened up a ban thread for him already) rescues 2 hostages a lot of times and asks for his teamates to kill the rest. A lot of the time his teammates die before killing the other two hostages, while he is still wandering front office. By the time he gets near projecter, the rounds over and we had to wait an extra 20 seconds to play because of his epic failure. I understand if the counter terrorists at least attempt to RESCUE ALL OF THE HOSTIES, manage to only rescue 2, while the other 2 are in front office. I understand if they kill the remaining two hosties if they are low on time. That is reasonable because they gave an attempt. However.. people like Swat (and there are a lot of them) just piss me off. Btw I know this is full of typo's and gramatical inconsistancies. I don't feel like writing research paper. Feel free to discuss. Edited Wed Feb 27 2008, 11:47PM |

i like cheese EDIT: JM pracket! I agree it does get annoying. I can't tell you how many times I've smashed my fist against my desk waiting for cts to rescue the damn hostages. Edited Thu Feb 28 2008, 12:02AM |

"By the time they get all the hosties, they do not have enough time to rescue them on most cases" appears to be at odds with "It is considered camping when a player (CT or T) is perceptively NOT attempting to complete map objectives in a reasonable amount of time..." which mean that scenario you describe warrants punishment, right? Agreed, but I'm not sure how the supposedly vague camping/objective rule does not give admins good cause to punish players for this type of behavior. Pracket wrote ... That's another quote from the rules, specifically the "Objectives" rule of the "General Policy" section, and again, I can't see where the rules do not accommodate the situation you describe. It appears that rules are not necessarily vague; rather, you seem to think these rules should be enforced more often. Thanks for pointing out that it's not open for a vote. EDIT: Posting links to the MOTD is making me find all sorts of spelling mistakes on the MOTD... Edited Thu Feb 28 2008, 01:04AM |

I'll admit I didn't really research the rules, just stated from I have seen from playing all the hours on the server that I have. So if there is inconsistancies with what I've stated, then my bad. But yea.. I would like it if it got enforced more often. From what I've seen, most admins don't do much about it. *EDIT* After reading the links you have posted AP, I agree that most of what I have written applies to the same punishment. However.. the problem I feel lies in admin discresion. Lots of times, the admins that play regularly do not enforce any/ few of the rules. Or, the rule in violation is not sufficient in their book to be slayed for. I was just on office, and Dr. Phail went a whole round of camping / non objective CT'ing. There was an admin on, I will not list names. The admin did not say anything even after the time ran out. It was the players that complained. This happens on a regular basis. This type of behavior has led me to resent a good chunk of Non-FT regulars, who constitute the majority of the server. More admin involvement would be the solution I think.. Most times trying to get the hostages is suicide, small door = single file = terrorists mashing the counter terrorists. So people take out as many Terrorists as possible then rescue them but by this time it's either too late or the surviving terrorists are in projector making it pointless to rescue the hostage as doing so would be killing all the T team anywho. | ||

I vote yes? lol I kid, but yeah. Even when I was playing not even five minutes ago. Four or more CT's were camping at backw window. Not even trying to get to the hosties. It ticked me off. u.u |

This is true.. however.. When you die, would you rather the round be filled with fast paced action, or do you just want to watch a ct or two wander around the map aimlessly. All I know is im rarely the last person alive.. |

If the rules on camping were any more strict the CTs would be at too big of a disadvantage. |

Actually it takes exactly 26 seconds to rescue hostages assuming you take projector last and go through garage. Admins enforce this like Ghengis enforced allegiance. |
