Would eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare. My friend thinks that this theory is complete bullshit, and is totally impossible. What do you think? -[link]- If there's a 1/26 chance for them to write the first letter right, then it would take them 26 times to most likely get it. Just getting one word right would take even longer. Getting the entire work would be a really really small chance, but it still a chance, so keep rolling the dice infinitely and eventually the result you want will happen. Hmm, theoretically possible, but it would take trillions if not more years. Think about it, 1 in 26 chance for the first letter and then a smaller chance to get each successive letter. It would type utter rubbish for trillions of years, and I'd argue so damn close to infinity that it doesnt matter. Somebody do the math on typing one page of shakespear, I know someone here does stat. | ||

that's also thinking just letters as well, not numbers or punctuation or any other variables, and a monkey wouldn't be the safest bet, since he's going to be more likely to hit some letters than other, if it was PERFECT randomness then yes, it's possible, but about the same level or less of possibility as me guessing how many grains of sand there are on earth. Probably far less chance on the monkey thing actually. | ||
