 I'm looking for the best road bike out there that's available to the public and all that. It'd be nice to keep it under 2.5k if you can, but I'm going to end up getting around 60% off on it, so whatever you've got is good...

I'm looking for speed (lightness) first, then comfort.

I've been looking at some cannondales, which my brother suggested, but I'm not really sure where to start...

Someone let me know what's up...

 I got an aluminum K2 Mach 1.0 6000 series for $500 and that thing HAULS as is (I've clocked upwards of 45 mph, and 35 mph on flat roads). My only complaint is it is a rough ride since the body is made of aluminum and not meant to flex as much as say, carbon fiber.
