The Roots Picnic, if you don't know who The Roots are...listen to this song, you may have heard it in Superbad. -[link]- The only criticisms I have would be the heat (felt like 120 degrees with the humidity, I was literally 5 pounds lighter when I got home from losing sweat.) and a shitty garage band with an asian singer known as Deerhoof. On the other hand the heat wasn't a negative, I sweat so profusely that the alcohol just seeped out of my pores. Hell even the artists on stage were saying how hot it was, LOL! The promotional poster:  My ticket:  Shirt from concert:   J*Davey: (sexy!)  The Cool Kids:  The Roots: (FTW)  Close-ups of Black Thought (the mc) and ?uestlove (drummer):   Can't forget Gnarls Barkley:  But I think what REALLY hit the nail on the head was the special appearance of the legendary, 1 and only DJ JAZZY JEFF! Yes! the dude you've all seen on Fresh Prince as Will's best friend. Of course he was a music artist before an actor. I'm going to Snoop Dogg and 3/11 in July, can't wait for that. Don't know of many others for this summer. Best concert I've been to yet was Streetlight Manifesto when they dropped their new album. Omg fucking AMAZING. The only concert that has tied that was Rx Bandits, which was an hour of non stop jamming and some of the best songs ever. I would give my life to live those two concerts again. Worst concert was Gym Class Heroes. I loved Papercut Chronicles, but they played maybe 2 bad songs off of it. I didn't realize how mainstream they'd gotten when I went. ncie guys. I was going to hit up warped tour again this summer, but im going cross country instead. With luck i can hit it in calgrary on the way through but who knows. |
