So here's how my day went... Today there was a small CS:S tourney (14 Teams)at a LAN gaming centre located about 10 mins away from my house. I signed up (for $25) with 3 members of a CAL-O team called LIVID -[link]- , and we picked up a ringer to be our 5th like 3 days ago. We called ourselves the “Calvanesian Open Warriors” (COW), Randy, I know. The comps were provided by the LAN (and they were shitty, like 30 fps), so all you needed to bring was a mouse/pad, KB, headset,,, if you wanted to. Most ppl brought their own peripherals. There were a few CEVO M / CAL M teams (ie: Clutch and Steel's ShadowGaming) as well as some O teams and a few Randy 12 yr olds. The format was simple; 9 rounds per half, first team to win 10 advances, single elimination, a win gets you to the next round - a loss sends you home with a T-Shirt. First round was played on D2, next round was on Nuke, the Semi-finals were played on Train and the Championship round was back on D2. (We came up with strats for Train in the parking lot and nobody on the team had even seen that map since CAL-O week 1  We scrimmed D2 together a couple of times, but for the most part we were pugging it.)So I got to the LAN, met up with the dudes on my team around 1pm, we went to register only to find out that our first match wasn't until 4pm. FUCK. I had a family BBQ/Aunt’s B-day to go to around supper time and I was expecting to go to it. So far. this isn’t looking good. With some time to spare, 2 of my team members asked if they could put their keyboards/gear in the trunk of my ride, I said go for it. Then we blazed some joints and took tokes from the pipe. As we were blazed and watching some of the matches, I got a call from my sister (around 2:30pm) saying that her boss let her off work early and she needed a ride home to get ready for the BBQ. Given that her birthday is in 2 days and I had some time, I said sure. So I drive to pick her up and we stop off at Wendy's where she bought me some food. (Small aside: We have 2 working old-school, handheld garage door openers, I grabbed the one from inside that morning to use in my ride, and the second one is in the other vehicle parked in the garage.) Anyways, I had just washed my Stang recently and it looked like it was about to rain, so I pulled my car into the garage so that it wouldn't get wet should it start pissing while I ate my food inside. As fate would have it, my sister pressed the mounted door button inside the garage to close the garage door while I was finding my keys to open the front door. NooooO! Both openers are in the 2 vehicles that are now locked in the Garage!!! Fuckin great. I wolf down my burger while trying to figure out how to deal with this shit. The only answer was to break into the garage through the side door. The garage's side door has a pretty standard locking knob, but the key to that door has been missing for almost 10 years, so you can only open/lock it from inside of the garage. I grabbed 2 paperclips and tried to finesse/James Bond that shit... but its not as easy as it looks, and I'm not Sla-frican American. After 10 minutes of failing I head to the basement and pull a hammer and a really long screwdriver from the toolbox. I march upstairs and head straight for the side door. At this point I figure that a Locksmith will charge like $100,,, but a new knob might only run $30, and its gotta be done at some point, so why not now?  So I went to work, banging and prying... only took 5 mins and a bit of elbow grease to pop off the entire knob and mechanism. Win. I finally got into the garage. So now the sky has darkened and it looks like its about to start pissing, so I leave the Stang in the garage and grab the other ride (Buick Randy-vouz). I grab my backpack from the backseat of my car, put it in the Buick and head back to the LAN. Needless to say, our 4:00 match was rapidly approaching, so I stepped on it and rolled into the parking lot at about 3:40. Ahhh, I just pulled off the most randomly blunted mission with time to spare. I meet up with my team in the LAN and we spec some of the ongoing match. The LAN was running behind schedule so our match got pushed back until 5:45 ish, so we watched for a bit moar. Now its about 5:20 and we decide to go outside and puff a smoke, and get our gear. My 2 team mates ask me to pop the trunk of the Stang so that they can get their bags that they had left in there before we blazed.... OH SHIIIIT! Their gear was in the trunk of the Stang, which is now in the garage at home,,, I COMPELTLY forgot their shit was in the trunk, I just grabbed my shit which was in the back seat... now all of us are stressing huge… It goes without saying, but I drove really really fast. Ok, so now I'm back at the LAN centre with my 2 boys' gear as well as my own, just as we were called to take our seats at the Match table to play our first match... Fuckin Epic.We started on CT side of D2,,, and we rolled all 9 rounds. (I finished CT side with of 9 kills and 1 death while mostly AWPing B site/Tunns.) I remember my first LAN kill which was with the AWP, epic. Steel's team threw some shouts and they called for the Scout to be brought out, lols, much respect. We then won the first round on T side and blanked the other team, 10-0, advancing in the process. ('LAN Certified' B-Hopper y’all  ) Because the brackets weren't full (meaning only 14 teams, instead of like 16) The winner of our match-bracket received a BYE for the 2nd round (Nuke) and we went straight into the semi-finals on Train. Luck of the draw baby, we were now guaranteed at least a top 4 finish. Steel's squad played a team called the 'Lan Molesters' for their first match on D2, surprise surprise, ShadowGaming advanced to the next round as well. They wrecked face on Nuke and advanced to Train. Ok, the stage is set, 4 teams left. My team, Steel's team, and 2 others. And wouldn’t ya know it, my team was matched up against Steel's team on Train.... And the anticipation grows.... Ahh fuck, who are we kidding. We lost to ShadowGaming 10-5, and they advanced to the Finals. Big Up. The other 2 teams in the Semis played to a score of 10-2,,, hence, We ended up in 3rd place because we won more rounds!!! Fuck yeah! ShadowGaming went into the Finals starting on T side of D2,,, it was an epic battle. We were rooting for them. Sadly, a defusal kit sitting on the bomb made it hard to defuse and it may have been the turning point because ShadowGaming came in a very close 2nd. It was well fought, [FT] was represented nicely with 2nd and 3rd place finishes. I need a new watch, and this thing retails for $230. -[link]- Besides, I can't use any of the fancy computer hardware without building an entirely new comp (my shit is old). Needless to say, the two teams that chose before us went for the Graphics cards and stuff, which left a few of the Watches up for grabs. Mission Accomplished. Lanapalooza time now, fucker I'll be using my rig instead of those shitty 20 fps comps and i'll be raping face.. ESPECIALLY WITH MY NEW 8600GTS!!! poppin 200+fps all on high. ownage It was a good game Goosey I tried to get that shank but the scout owned me  I only tried to shank though because it would have been an awesome clutch to take out the two that I did + a shank and defuse.
