Because I type faster than everyone and I have the time right now (I'm blending this with writing a quiz for my fiance. See why I have no time?) I'm going to write up a quick set of guidelines. You all can look at it, and the English major can take a look at them and make them concise so they will be aesthetically pleasing in the MOTD. First off, I think that we should discuss a camping policy. I'm not sure what the round-time is right now, but I think if you're not at least inside of the actual office by 1:30, you should be slayed. It gives the CT a fair amount of time to advance inside of the building and to push to do their objective. Afterwards, I think that CTs should be in T-spawn by 1:00. As far as sitting in a spot, I think that Goose's legendary 20 seconds or longer rule should be applied as well. There are plugins available that will start slapping you for 5-HP after a defined time (and it beacons you), but I am not sure if they have them for GO. It appears alltalk will be enabled based on community demand, so the degree of spam will greatly increase, which means you admins will be busier. The small issue here is some of you have shorter leashes than others, so I will let the normal escalation procedure take effect here: Warn, Slay, Kick, Warn, Ban. I think it's fair enough. If there is a hacker in the server, which I have not yet seen in the small amount of time I have played, a demo is MANDATORY. I don't give a shit if he is flying around the server, get a 5 second demo if you have to and then ban him. There should be no drama as a result from this, and every case can be reviewed by the admins when necessary. Players can appeal their ban here (this should be listed in the MOTD in the "Banned and Misconduct" section. In the event there will be sprays, I believe if in the past, we had hairy men spreading their buttcheeks, things such as nazi sprays, shit-eating sprays, etc., should be allowed. I have no problem with them, they are sometimes comical. If this is going to be slightly designated as an 18+ server, we must act like adults and take jokes like men. Also, I was thinking about discussing a policy about women and video games. During the post-Alex era, it was a free-for-all on forums and in-game. I find it quite annoying when some 130 pound ball of pus starts trying to be original and make kitchen jokes, etc. Women are very fun to play with once you get regulars. Direct attacks on women should be treated no differently than harassment to any other player. If we are going to make a rule against racism, we should make a rule against sexism, too. Women are expected to fully abide to the rules like everyone else. Just because you have tits and a vagina does not mean you are expunged from the rules. Before slaying the first time, if they're camping, I say slap. Slaying off the bat can get some people to ragequit. Slapping sends the message without any of the rage. Second time around, slay might be warranted. I do have a little bit of an issue with the warn slay kick warn ban methodology for OBVIOUS trolls. When someone repeatedly, round after round runs up and shoots a shotgun in the face of a teammate, they should be warned, slayed, warned, then banned. Kicking simply results in them rejoining the server again. I do see its merit in giving them a chance to stop being a cunt, but a 30 minute or 60 minute ban after a few warnings and once again OBVIOUS trolling I think should be allowed. |

I agree with almost everything said. However, two things stick out to me. I have no problem with sprays, and you're right Knight, some of them are hilarious. However, I think we should draw the line at obviously racist sprays such as Nazi sprays. If we have a rule for no racism, why should these sprays be allowed? I think anything we deem to be downright offensive and not funny in any way possible (such as Swastikas, Nazi flags, etc.) should be banned. The rest are fine. Also, the Warn Slay Kick Warn Ban is perfect for almost every situation, but I think the hacker situation is a bit different. I need some clarification on this. In the case of of hacker, does the warn slay etc. still take effect? Or is it demo-ban? Or what? Just looking for some clarification. |

All that sounds good to me. the times tho sometimes a few of us play slower than the rest of the team. so i would say as long as it looks like they are progressing give them a chance because constant rushing and dieing gets old fast. and the sprays i say leave it alone its a game people are people if you get offended than its a person problem . and the MOTD i think should list the times for CTs, only change i would make to that Edited Wed Aug 29 2012, 02:22PM |

There is a discernible difference between camping in the back of garage with having no intentions of rescuing hosties, and strategically waiting until some of the intense firefights die down (not that I do that too often, but it doesn't make sense to run balls out at paper with a scout). |

So. The whole warn slay kick warn what ever for mic spamming? Warn, 1 round mute, warn, slay, 5 minute mute, warn, slay perm mute, warn, ban for fun would make more sense? Sorry for shitty formatting, on my phone in bed, almost shit my pants farting. I'm worried about sleeping. |

I don't expect you to use the escalation procedure for hacking, it is obviously for trolls or for people who like to badmouth the badmin. I don't believe fascism or racism or sexism has a place here at all. I mean, porn is fine because porn stars aren't real people. OBVIOUSLY. I'm pretty sure all of this is on the MOTD as it stands. And I disagree with your hacker idea. If it's a suspected waller or something, fine. But if you're spinning in circles and headshotting everyone, I'm not going to fuck with a demo. Under no circumstances. 10 seconds of that can clear out a server. I'm not going to let the fine patrons of FTC have their time ruined by a hackertroll if it is just plain obvious. And yes, the admin team will always run under the warn, slay, kick, warn, ban policy. However, as stated in the MOTD, "If you show no regard whatsoever to other players or to the admin team, you will not be granted every courtesy on the above list." Edited Wed Aug 29 2012, 03:55PM |
