Yea that is what i thought... ive been pulling my hair out with all the options. Right now i have 3 wish lists on newegg. One being an i7 build that would run me $1850 not including possible combo deals. One being an i5 build around $1550, and the other being a Phenom II x4 build with two x16 lanes on the mobo for $1450. I need to do some comparing to see if the Phenom II's would bottleneck the GTX 460 SLI rig even if they are running on full x16 2.0 lanes. If not, then i have no problems running an AMD system. I have one now and im satisfied with it. If i needed the processor power for coding and decoding and other software like that then i would definitely go with Intel most likely being the i7... but i dont. I watch movies, surf the internet, play games and i settle for nothing less then max graphics (i like to be immersed), and possibly might go triple monitor in the future (so two cards are potentially important). More researching yay!!! |
