Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I know some of you love building potential machines, and was wondering if you all want to help me get back into gaming. I miss you all and look forward to the rise of FT again, but I can't do that without a budget gaming rig. I'm looking for a rig that will be able to play D3 and CSGO for cheap. I don't think I could afford more than $400, maybe $450 if I suck some dick for money. I have a nice mouse, and a good keyboard, so just the rig itself (I'll buy a new monitor outside of that cost). Anyone up to the challenge of picking the parts? I can build it once it's ready to go! |

what i threw together while speed browsing newegg; Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Computer Case 50 ECS A885GM-A2 (V1.1) AM3 Motherboard 65 AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor 120 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (Desktop Memory 30 RAIDMAX RX-530SS 530W Modular Power Supply 40 ASUS ENGTX550 GeForce GTX 550 Ti 120 TOTAL: Roughly 430 dollars This is with no hard drive. you could maybe skimp on the GFX card but i feel the motherboard (brand (i have no personal experience with the company)) is the weak link (from lack of a personal involvement with ECS. My Hdd setup is 2 OCZ Vertex 4 SATA6 Internal SSDs in RAID0 and 2 Seagate Constellation 500G SATA6 Internal Hard Drives in RAID0 for data. This is all backed up to a lan data server. not the cheap way for storage you were looking for but i would then suggest you accumulate the pieces to make a good redundancy in your data. Case and processor can't be found when I click the link. Also power supply has a ton of reviews saying dead in 2 months which seems sketchy. And the mobo I really know nothing about that company. My buddy said he had a gpu I could use for free, need to check with him when he gets out of work to what it is. I'll post back when I find out. Thanks omni! That's a great start, getting a good feel for budget builds from that. |

I've done some research, and as of today, I'm buying this case: -[link]- With the promo RWCASE1506, it's only $43 and includes 3 fans. Not bad. I'll keep working from there! Thanks for the info Omni, it's been very helpful so far. |

And I believe my friend has this gpu for me, which looks solid honestly, and don't think I'll be needing to buy one. -[link]- gforce 8800 gts edit: And I know it's almost 5 years old, but for free, that makes it almost new in my eyes. I'll upgrade off it eventually. If you guys don't think that card will work for d3 and csgo, let me know. Edited Mon Jun 18 2012, 07:32PM |

i don't think that card will run it at a decent pace honestly... i got a radeon 5750 and on all low settings doesn't run it all that well my recommendation is to use the tomshardware build they just did for $500 -[link]-,3216.html sounds like you don't need a hdd so that saves you $75 and i'm guessing you can scavenge a optical drive as well you could also get a little beefier mobo since you don't need the hdd btw check out what i'm building in the next month just got this ssd for a really good price: -[link]- here is the rest of the build: -[link]- gonna be tough getting that vid card cause they are hella hard to come by atm oh ya and i might just go with the 2500k for the cpu but haven't decided yet :S Edited Mon Jun 18 2012, 10:26PM |

I see some parts that I can pull from that build. Overall I'm looking for quad core, 3+ghz cpu which omni's build provides. I'm looking to keep continually updating this system, so if a gpu is the biggest issue I might just bite the bullet and pay for a little better one. I don't feel like buying a temp gpu for like $100-$150 when I can get a perm for not much more...if you get what I mean. The big things I'm looking for is the mobo and gpu to be decent. the rest I can upgrade over time. I do have a nas to back up for redundancy that will be probably a nightly or binightly backup system. I can get cheap HDDs, and might bite on a small ssd to drop windows 7 on. Lots to think about. |

Advice: Don't go with a celeron or pentium series processor. You'll be paying a premium because of the intel name, and will get 10 year old technology. Any kind of decent budget build should use an AMD processor with AMD/ATI GPU (they work better together than say an AMD proc with nVidia gpu). Here is a processor that's $5 more, has a faster clock speed, is more efficient (meaning it saves on electricity and runs cooler), and has on die graphics (meaning it can process certain things without using a relatively slow front side bus to talk to the GPU) -[link]- | ||
