Well reacently, I re-installed my computer, becouse I truested somebody, I shouldn't have. Anyway. I re-installed, everything works fine. I downloaded the graphics card drivers, and sound is working. Everything. Excpet my internet seems to be way slower the usual. I use Windows Xp Pro, installed Servive Pack, and use aol BROADBAND, which is the same as DSL so that's not it! It uses a DSL modem...I can bare with it, but if you have any suggestions, as to how to maybe change something to make it work, that would be great. Thanks for any help in advance!

New IP. I think it would involve going to your modem's ip port adress, like, type in ip config in your command prompt. The last adress on the bottom is the one you enter in your internet toolbar. Once you get there, there should be some sort of PPP status. If im not wrong, it might be the same thing as DSL. But once you get there, disconnect it and reconnect it. Thats what it sounds like to me, that you need a new ip. When my internet isnt working I usually do that. Always works. | ||

AOL sucks. End of story. I'm not kidding, you should probably switch to comcast or ATT. I'm not trying to make one of those dumb remarks, but it would definately help. Also, do what night said; restart your router, it helps a lot. | ||

Fixed. I did what you said Night, and soemthign else, I guess both helped, thanks. What I did was go to CP, Network Conections, creat new connection, and set up a new one called, AOL-hs, and connected. It worked, and now I see a BIG improvement. Thanks for the advice. Kd: I had DSL before, and paid $35 (they say 29.99, but there is $6 in taxes). Then I tried AOL, for $10 less, and see no difference. It works for me the same way, and its cheaper, so I feel it works pretty well. Also I dont experiance any trouble, like i did often with DSL (there was soemthign wrong with their connection to me, etc. often times, which cost me hours of being on hold to fix it....) |

Glad I could help. The sad thing was, I figured this out on my own. I called tech support once all pissed because my browser was so damn slow, and they didnt know what to do. So I figured it out myself. | ||
