Im gonna be smart this time and post here. See what i can pick up off this awsome forum. I AGAIN have a problem after 1 day of new parts. Which might cause me to take another break from CSS, this time for maby weeks. Even a month... I got my new Hybrid MB and a new PCIe GeForce 7600GT 256mb GDDR3 from eVGA. I never buy from them but i had no choice. Now it was working last night through Source for hours and WoW. AND Unreal Tournament 2004 for a few hours today as well. I go to a job interview at a furniture store. I come back about 2 hours later and turn my PC on and i get no picture... My monitor says No Signal. I checked the monitor and it was fine. I tested it on another monitor and the same problem persists. I checked all the wires and they were all the same. I didnt touch nothing, no crashes, no overheat problems(i have 3 case fans and 3 extra's i put in), no freezes, no blue screen of death.. No memory dump. No sounds when i turn the PC on. No beeps. No weird noises. Its getting plenty of power from the new 500w PS i bought yesterday. Yet i get no picture. Funny thing is... it says No Signal when theres nothing plugged in. But when i plug in the DVI plug, the screen disappears, monitor picks up the signal, it knows theres a Vid Card there, but theres still no picture.. AHH!! This is on now 3 different monitors. My RAM works in my freinds PC. But i cant test my Vid Card or my MoBo on my freinds PC since i now have different peices then him. And another funny Voodoo thing, when i turn my PC on, not only do i get no picture, but my CDROM light stays on, and none of them will open when i press the button. And i dont get a BIOS screen either. It could be the new MoBo or the MoBo slot. Or maby the Vid card... but i doubt its the vid card... I DONT KNOW!!!! I dont understand how it could work for a day, i touch nothing, i leave for two hours, come back, and it doesnt work... Plz someone help me... i have the razors at the wrists... waiting on your replies. Edited Mon Feb 12 2007, 05:45AM |

first things first. un-seat and re-seat all cards/ram/etc. and replug all power cables. still nothing... mobo/proc. get a replacement mobo, if that doesn't work, get credit toward another hybrid mobo. if THAT doesn't work, new proc/mobo. i hope the first thing works! |

Remember, its down the road not across the street.  The Emo guys know what I mean. I dunno dude, the extent of my knowledge rests in the hands of my old tried and true tactic... Pull out the Nintendo Cartridge and blow the dust out, then put it back in and tap reset a few times. If that doesn't work, jiggle some cords and use the palm of your hand to feed vicious blows to the side of the case. Sry man, I'm useless when it comes to this stuff.

Hi Glitch sorry about your problems and I may have an answer or maybe not. It sounds like your bios may need to be cleared and reset. There should be a jumper on the motherboard that says something like dlear cmos (usually abreviated). Its usually somewhere next to your battery. Just move the green plastic jumper to the open pins wait a minute and put it back in previous position. Oh make sure the computer is unplugged. If you have the motherboard manual it will have the diagram on the cmos clearing jumper. Another thing it could be is the motherboard shorting out on a stand-off. If thats the case you will need to reseat the motherboard by removing the screws and making sure all the holes line up tightening them back up. But I think the bios is corrupted and needs to be reset. Usually after a reset you need to go into the bios and check that your settings are set to default. Oh if you cant find the jumper just remove the battery itself and then put it back in. Its the nickle sized silver disk on the MB. | ||

Just jizz on the MB Glitch. That always works for me. No, seriously. It sounds like a reset issue like Vulture said. I would try that.
