Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Now, I know what I'm asking may be seen as illegal, wait it is, but I just need a little help. Recently, when home, I've been using p2ps and torrents to download movies and such, but up here at school, all torrent and p2p ports are blocked. I was wondering if there is way, or website that would allow me to download the avi/mpeg/iso files from movies like p2ps. any help would be appreciated! |

i think you can change the port that your torrents operate from, but i also believe that depends on the program that you are using. I saw an article once that i need to find again about encrypting the connection or something like that so that even your ISP is unaware that it is a torrent and so they really have no reason to block it like they would if they knew you were doing illegal torrents. Other than that the only thing that i can think of is possibly through linux by routing your computer through a proxy which may work (it may also work in windows if there is a program to do it but i know it is built in in linux or at least some versions)

if you know how to set up a VPN on your home machine, you can tunnel your connection through that. however, if your school is smart, it has a "deny all" policy with only a few open ports for commonly used protocols like HTTP or SSH. if that is the case, you are S.O.L. if you're ISP institutes some sort of torrent blocking policy, they are usually able to tell by the flow of traffic, encrypted or not, default port or not. whether or not they know for sure it is torrent traffic is irrelevant, they will assume it is and either block or shape your traffic. most ISPs are lazy though and will only pay attention to default ports. usually they will only come looking for you if they are issued a subpoena to do so. |

i would suggest trying to do a VPN like jigg said but you have to make sure you set a strong ass password and have a good firewall and stuff because depending on your router and the number of ports it allows you to forward, you may end up having to put the computer in the DMZ in order to access it outside of your network.
