I always here everyone talking about changing your BIOS and shutting programs and shit down that you dont need to be running all the time. how do I do shit, where do I go to do this? Should I do it with precaution incase I fuck anything up? What do I stop and what dont I stop from running? I need to make my computer run tip top, because I keep getting booted from CS and I have alot of lag and I was told that doing this could help. also, when I open up up task manager I was told I can target where the programs are running and I can shut them down personally or at least see where they are coming from? I need help, fixing my lag and making my shitty dell run as good as possible. I already did your "Fix CSS lag" tut and that kindof helped... idk. Any help would be appreciated. thanks guys

There are lists of what all your processess do out there. I start with 36 processess and drop it down to 19 ish. Alot of that stuff you dont need. | ||

i would leave your BIOS alone unless you know what you are doing, or you want a new paperweight. there are too many things you can do to list in a forum thread, but there are many computer tweaking guides out there like angry linked. google is your friend. | ||

as far as task manager goes, omega pretty much summed it up. you can play with the processes, and close certain ones if you don't know what they are, and the worst case senario is you have to reboot your computer after deleting the wrong process (explorer.exe, etc). | ||
