Maybe this is true..maybe not but Im all for AGP not dying yet. Theres a crapload of AGP rigs doing just fine. Be aware it IS the Inquirer so it be BS. -[link]- |

I'm pretty sure that's gotta be true... ATI hasn't released (and I don't think are planning to) any AGP DX10 cards, so if Nvidia controls the market... its a great business opportunity, and anyone that does get vista and is a gamer, is going to want to have a DX10 card. I believe it |

Oh please be true. I bought/set up my new comp like a week before PCI-E came out, and therefore, all i have is an AGP. Im not looking foward to buying an entirely new MoBo just for a PCI-E slot. *sigh* | ||

Depending on what you are running now you may need to at least upgrade your memory. BUT even if you dont go Vista you will most likely seen an improvement in performance from a new generation of AGP by Nvidia. You can see what you need by running the Vista upgrade advisor -[link]- Im not jumping on Vista for any reason until gameplay gets at least as good as XP. Or else I'll duel boot XP and Vista. Vista advisor said my rig can handle Business version which means it will handle them all pretty much. But I dont have a DX10 card either. Ill wait till the second or third generation of 10 cards before I take that plunge. They run just a tad too hot for my blood at this point in time. Again if you cant do Vista and you have AGP a dx10 AGP will most likely crush any benchmarks against an older DX9 card. So you will get an upgrade in performance in games. That is as long as your memory and CPU dont bottleneck the new AGP-10 card. I'll post any updates as I come across them. |

I've heard that something Microsoft did with the way sound works, makes it so it's about 10x harder to make good sound quality in new games that will be developed for vista, so they'll have bad sound quality. That and the lack of being able to use itunes/limewire etc, make me never want to get Vista, even though I have Vista Ultimate 64x | ||
