Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Can anyone, first, tell me the fastest connector? SATA (3.0Gb/s), IDE Ultra ATA100, IDE Ultra ATA133, or Serial ATA150? Sata and ATA100 are the most common, and I'm 99% sure both will work in my computer. Another question I have is... Will I have to use only one Hard Drive, or will I be able to keep my old hard drive in there? It seems there is another place for my one hard drive, but it's not really held in place, it just sits there, and I'm afraid if I put it in there without attaching it securely to something it'll screw something up. My current Hard Drive is a Maxtor, and I'm thinking about WD now (not really too into any of the Seagate models. If this will work in my computer, I'll probably get -[link]- Suggestions? |

sata II is the fastest (3.0 GB/s), then sata, then ata133, then ata100. you need to know what motherboard you have to know which version you support. i would advise against buying an ATA hard drive, that shit is outdated and slow. |

Jigg, my current stupid is an ATA, but I see a slot in my mobo that looks like it can handle a SATA one as well. All I would need is a place to put it... So pretty much only question left is if i could just have a hard drive sitting in the computer instead of being secured -- would it do any damage to the hard drive and or not read properly? Edit: i think my mobo will only accept SATA 150... (1.5 GB/s) which still isn't bad... but I'm thinking I should just re-make my entire computer into a fucking-sweet-athon. Thanks again for the help all Edited Tue Mar 13 2007, 02:16AM |
