Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.

Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.

 ok since a binch of people including my self have been asking for help with computer upgrades and what they should and recommendations of websites and things like that i thought it would be cool and an interesting idea for the members of this clan to specify what the specs of their rigs are so that people will know what kind of performance they will be looking for.

So the basic outline of replies should mention:

1. Mother Board
2. CPU
3. Ram
4. Video Card
5. Hard Drive
6. Power Supply

also add what the average FPS is that you get while playing counter strike so people can get an idea of the performance.

if you can remember what the prices were for each part place it next to the part. this will help people on tight budgets.


Ill go first


1. e-EVGA Nvidia nForce 4 x16 SLI AMD Socket 939 $99
2. AMD x2 4200+ 2.2 GHz 2 Ghz FSB 2x512 cache Socket 939 $165
3. 2 Gb PC 3200 DDR-400 $150
4. Dual e-EVGA Nvidia 7800 GT in SLI $165 each
5. 160 Gb hard drive (dont know price or make)
6. 500 Watt Power supply (^)

In Counter Strike Source the maximum FPS i get is 70-80 and the minimum is 40-50 with out lag.

My average fps on css is about 30. Keep in mind though that i leave AIM, Xfire, Google messenger, Firefox, and Mcafee virus scan open when i play, as well as whatever else i might have been doing beforehand.

On a fresh restart with only steam open i can get 70 fps easily.

Suggestion: If you have a bunch of games and music i suggest that if you get a hard drive get one big enough that you could partition into two, one for booting and important stuff and the other for your games, music, movies, etc.

2. AMD X2 4400+ oc'd to 2.6 (thats like a 4800)

5. 2 WD 250gb 16mb cache in RAID 0
6. Antec true power 440 watt PSU
7. dvd drive- NEC-3550a, it burns every thing
8. Antec super LANboy. dont get it, it sucks major ass
Im going to upgrade my fans so i can get more out of my cpu. I want to get dual 7900gt's, but they're arent alot to choose from anymore. also, i want to get a new case.

like emer, i leave my shit running when I play css, also it should be noted that comcast recently decided to throttle me. I get around 30-40 fps in css, not sure about BF2 or whatever else.

With custom Alienware (Alienguise) windowblinds, icons and all that shit, couple of mobo software, firefox, windows media player and my music folder open, i get around 70-90fps with a full server. Low is 45-55 when smoke nade goes off. On all highest settings. Nothing overclocked.

I love my new PC!!! lol Super quick. Thinking about buying another HDD and going RAID0 but i dont need it and i should just save my money.

t7400 core 2 duo 2.16ghz
2gb ram 667mhz
go 7900 gs
17 inch wuxga+ screen (sexy)
100gb drive
When i bought it, it was $2750 including tax
now its worth like $2000
I have media center runnin on it, but i can run cs with nice graphics at a nice 80-120 fps
I run all games that can at 1920x1200, including F.E.A.R that looks sexy as hell too. Supreme Commander, etc.
but my Desktop that i rarely use for games because the vid card is fucked and overheats insanely fast:

 It's not my fault, my parents are ex-Microsoft and they just buy me stuff like that.

I wish they didn't because all the people at my school think I'm spoiled and rich so they beg me for money, but I'm not(wish I was =(

And thats about my only expensive thing(My family doesn't even have cable or a flatscreen TV =(

 Ah yeah, I worked for my desktop computer, but then when my parents separated and moved to diff houses, things changed; they just recently (7 months ago, lol) said that I need to have a schedule of when I go between houses, so I said, alright, you want me between houses, you can buy me a laptop. So they did. smile .. then I bought all my additional shit (mouse - mx1000, my headset, that broke frown games and all that shit)
About a week after I recieve my laptop, my dad has to "prove" something, so he buys the fucking XPS computer to try and say "look, im better than you" then he buys what he thinks is the best keyboard and mouse combo, and pays like $139 cdn, a week or two after I bought mine, and bragged about it, and I promptly replied "Oh, that's the same thing that I bought, except i paid $20 less and got it two weeks earlier." That shut him up.. for about four months when he bought a 70' TV and a 72' TV.. Now Supreme Commander kicks ass!!
