Hey guys, I posted a thread, and even had Kddude interest in buying my Powerbook G3: -[link]- I was told it would cost too much to fix, and Macs suck anyways. But, I need a laptop for school, and we just got Wifi out the ass, so it would work wonderful in school, I just need to get it running. Like I said, it wont turn on, period. I think it either needs a $129.99 ion battery, and I still would need to get a $76 charger to charge it. I just wanted to know, since I was told to get rid of it before, if it would be worth trying to get the $2000 Powerbook running, because it is really a nice computer. and even if I dont want it after I get it running, I could turn around and sell if for like $600. How should I go about trying to get this running? send it to apple and have them look at it, or get the parts and cross my fingers? Im not expecting everyone to post "get rid of your mac /wrists", but if someone knows alot about Apple's, I could really use the help. I really need this thing running

Just the laptop. So can I really send it in if I have no proof that its mine? I guess I could, that doesnt really make sense what I said.. I could do that.... but they dont make these anymore and Apple is fucking expensive, and would probably make me pay out the ass. and with this I dont want to spend anything, lol, or next to nothing |

Call Apple and tell them that you received the laptop from school. They may ask you for a letter from the school but it will be worth it. Apple laptops are phenomenal and if you have to put a little bit of investment into this one to get it fixed it will be worth it because it will last you. I have a MacBook Pro from work and I NEVER use my Dell laptop. I ended up just telling my Mom that I'm going to wipe the drive and give it to her so she can use it for work. Seriously dude, spend the money to get it fixed if it's only a couple hundred bucks. | ||

Yeah, I know what you all think of that, but bite me, whenever we buy from ebay, we pay for iron, and receive gold. Gonna wait for the battery to arrive, and I am getting a charger from my school tomorrow, definitely. so then ill have a working charger and battery, so if it STILL doesnt run after that, ill send it into apple and be like "WTF APPLE?!?!?" Thank you |
