Ok, so recently, I had this insane urge to play CSS. So I turn on my computer, and lo and behold, the internet doesnt work (I've been using my brothers laptop for the last few months because its easier to use). So, I restart the computer and I get the same message bubble: there is limited or no connectivity, please contact the network administrator. So, I switch the ethernet port and restart. same error. I uninstall the NIC card driver and reinstall them. same error. I use a program to reset the registry keys responsible for handling internet connections, protocols, ect. same error. So I'm lost. I need Help. What I know: My computer sends, but does not recieve packets It does receive, but at a very slow rate I think it has something to do with the registry, I remember there was some type of error. I can't do a system restore. Someone (kremit) convinced me somehow that the cons of the system restore outweighed the pros. reformatting is the last option i am willing to take, too much porn and pirated shit. My mobo is a Asus A8N-SLI Premium with the Nvidia Nforce 4 chipset the onboard LAN is Nvidia with a Marvell chipset also. |

I had internetz issues not too long ago. I have DSL and it turned out to be the "Voice Grader" at the box where my shit comes in was FUCKED up. Basically I would be able to get on the internetz sporadically like once in a while. Then it wouldn't work at all... I'd try fuckin with your modems/routers before reformatting. |

This has nothing to do with your Computer specs at all. Its completely your modem/router. bwahah. I had made a joke! hopefully Annie saw it and she will like me more... cause I asked her out, in, well, in perfect plan! I got suspended at school today... Anyways, heres what I used to do with my bad connectivity: 1) depending on if you had a network to your router and a BUNCH of computers going through one connection(I have 3 computers, and one for xbox live), shut off the router and unplug all cables, and reconnect. even the phone line directly into the wall. [do this a maximum of 3 times: once with router off, then once when it is on, then once again with the router off] 2) once you have reconnected ALL phoneline wiring, etc. plug everything back into its normal spot, turn on router, and let it sit for 2-4 minutes for it to reset itself, and find the cables, etc. 3) restart your computer. once restarted, shut off all applications. Open up Network connections, then LAC. click repair maximum of 5 times. once should do fine, but I find that with bad connectivity, everything in numbers seems to help. If none of this works, for resetting the router, reconnecting cables, and getting new IPs and shit, idk what to tell you. whenever I have bad connectivity, it lasts less then a day, or what I do above fixes it. If none of this works, you might have to call your ISP and find out if its because of them, or if they can supply you with a cheap $15 router. Most of the time whenever our internet gets bad, our ISP comes, goes onto this internet site with a bunch of fucking numbers, and somehow that resets the router entirely, or if that doesnt work he just gives us another crappy one to last a year, lol. sorry if none of this works Kev, ive only learned how to master my crappy computers and internet, id have to be on your computer to see how to fix it. |
