Idling mIR is a pretty bad idea. I found out the hard way. I got backdoored by a hacker, and I now have a new russian created trojan on my computer, named Advanced XP Defender/Fixer. It fucks your computer up, bad. It pretends to be a new anti-malware service similar to that on Vista. Has windows pop ups that come up every minute or so, that tell you to install it. Also, when it got onto my computer, it deletes registry keys for your anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares so they won't detect it. I get errors with my software saying it cannot scan for trojans due to missing registry keys. System Restore doesn't work either, as it stays on your computer. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get rid of it? I've tried new anti-virus (Avast and AVG) and niether worked. |

Man that guy's HJT log was one big buttfuck. Bobby if the above don't cover it, just run atf cleaner, FixWareout, smitfraudfix, and reboot. If it's still there post an hjt log and i'll read it for you rather than you going to those forums and waiting 1-3 days for a response | ||

whenever i get serious viruses, i always unplug my internet as fast as i can and reformat my whole computer. even if you do fix it, nothing ever just "disappears" on your computer. id rather just do the smart thing and start over. besides, its get good to get a good "cleaning" every once in awhile.. |

I would like to tell everyone to make sure not to have auto accept DCC on their mIRC client. Because if someone wants to send you something and you have that on your mIRC will automatically accept it.. and who knows what's in there. | ||
