Yes because my MOTHER who had just given birth to me when my dad walked out was too LAZY to get a job. Get over yourself guys. there are more people who use the system for what its supposed to be for then those who abuse it. Im extremely offended by that rider. |

Rusty wrote ... b4ndito wrote ... Rusty wrote ... I support Obama's "green" plans (more so I don't support McCain's 140+ Nuclear power plants in America). Yea, that makes sense. Let's do what the Dems did at their convention. Let's bring in biodegradable sporks that we payed China twice as much for, and that require 4 years of direct sunlight to decompose; as we all know that shit laying in the middle of a landfill decomposes so well. And say fuck it to the fact that nuclear energy is the cleanest, most efficient, and less polluting form of energy in the world right now. Ya know, it just doesn't seem right that we should do something so smart and efficient. The waste from a nuclear plant every year can be condensed to the size of the average human fist. It's so much better than the coal that is leading to "Global Climate Change". Want the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere to go from 338 parts per million back down to 336 (the only change over the last decade... a total of .02%)? Well shit, I can't think of any way other than by burning lots and lots of coal, so that we can use it to fuel our inefficient home heating systems that put off more dangerous chemicals into our atmosphere... like chlorine gas!!! Great call on that one, Rusty. Thanks for the enlightenment. You were so specific. I don't feel I have to specify why I don't think putting in nuclear power plants (about 3 per state, minus what we have) but it will call for much more money to be spent than reducing carbon emmisions by try to atleast see if there is a way to burn coal cleanly. Not to mention Obama would be more likely to help push Hydrogen cars, that McCain won't, considering his lobbyists with the gas companies. Not to mention the instability of a Nuclear power plant and us being a target of many countries, especially if our next president is not liked. Domino effect? The DC circuit just overturned the EPA's Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR) this summer. EPA is estimating 33,000 deaths per year based on the fact that power plants dont have to follow the CAIR emissions standards. Clean coal is being worked on, but there's no technology for it yet. Nuclear is the cleanest, safest energy we can produce in a decent quantity. I have no idea what you're basing the statement that nuclear plants are unstable on. Edited Thu Oct 16 2008, 08:50PM |

Phate wrote ... The fact of the matter is, more people go to university if they could afford it which means they get a higher paying job which means more money for the government which means lower tuition for the younger generations which means higher paying jobs achieved which means more revenue for the government and so on. You do realize not everyone can do school. You do realize that a lot of people arent book smart. You do realize that the more people who go to higher education, the less people who are working jobs that we need to have going such as plumbing, electricians, construction, brick laying, painting, and all that other shit. Someone has to do it. The fact of the matter is, Phate, i understand where your coming from. You succeeded by yourself. But this country is different from yours, where 90% of the people on welfare are just milking it. I know one person on welfare, but he just cut his foot off with a 4000psi heated power washer. He is collecting welfare for the first time after working for 34 years. He deserves every bit of it. He starting back up his job as soon as his physical therapy is over. Unfortunately, like i said, 90% of everyone on welfare milks it. I personally know 2 people, you lease cadillacs with big chrome rims priced at $900 a piece, have 3 kids, and do not work. They collect welfare. Im sorry, but i just dont feel that its right my father worked since 12 years old on the books, paying taxes like everyone, and he is paying for there rims and shit. And dont think im stereotyping either. Its all fuckin true. Welfare should be eliminated except for injury. And only be available if you cannot get workers comp. My father worked his ass off, we had just bought a vacation house, he got laid off, we sold the house, lived on credit cards for a bit, he got another job ASAP, my mother started working again since me and my sister were now a bit older, we payed off the credit cards, got perfect credit again, my father went back to school at the age of 39, got some licenses, moved up, and now is an Assistant Chief of Engineering in the Fox News building in Manhattan. None of his money should go to these scum low life bastards. Phate wrote ... there are more people who use the system for what its supposed to be for then those who abuse it. Maybe where you live. EDIT: Im not knocking you or attacking you. God bless your mom, she did what she had to do, as you do too. And i wanna move to Canada because i hear the crime rate is nothing, and the country is so beautiful. My post was not a personal attack. Edited Thu Oct 16 2008, 09:50PM |

Knightrider wrote ... Get rid of the welfare system. I would rather pay taxes and support the rebirth of my economy instead of people who won't get off of their lazy asses and get a Goddamn job. Reagan's quote = win. Don't misinterpret it. Glitch is wrong, 90% of people aren't "milking" it. Sure, drug dealers with big rims and cadillacs who don't pay income tax are going to get welfare too, I understand that. Welfare does help people succeed though. It's not like only lazy people get welfare cause they don't want to work. Hell, if you think about it like that, why wouldn't hobos be getting that money too? And why are we arguing about Canada right now? We should be fighting tooth and nail with real Americans. Support Nuclear Power. It supports the environment. |

Phate you live in Canada, I'm talking about America. Anything that I have that deals with politics isn't referring to your country. Your population of 30 million something,, if someone milks the welfare system there not a lot of people are getting hurt. People do it here a lot. I know because my dad used to do that. I live in a town where people constantly milk it, that's why I hate the system. |

Get your wordings straight. |

Thank you for your insightful post Glitch. It is highly abused here aswell but we have more guards against it. The fact of the matter is that it is needed in some cases and sometimes its not because of injury. I think it should be the same as now but way more restrictions. Like they must present certificates monthly that show that they are actively searching for work. These certificates must be stamped and signed by employers that have interviewed them. They should atleast have to go to interviews monthly. I don't care how bad the economy is, if your a brick layer and you can't find work laying bricks work at wal-mart until you can. Welfare should really only be a bridging program to help BETWEEN jobs.. not a substitute for them. I agree with you completely Glitch except that i believe safeguards are the answer not abolishment. | ||

I hate people who stand at the redlights and ask for money when they have cigarette in their hand and are fairly dressed, like wtf... why cant they fucking work in mcds or something and make some money, that shit pisses me off and also people that are on wellfare for no reason they dont work just because they are fucking lazy. Im being very honest its so easy to get money in this country if you have a goal in life you can acomplish anything in this country but there are lazy motherfucking people that are bringing this country down.
