Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I'm an IT major myself, and so far, I'm finding it pretty easy. Although I haven't taken any of the majorly serious hard ones, I think that would be a perfect field for you to go into. Do not go into programming if you suck at math, or you find the idea of sitting in an office all day writing code incredibly boring because, well, that's what you will be doing. If you still find being a cop interesting, you can go for Security and Forensics, which branches off of IT. At my school, I go for either Forensics or Network Administration. Forensics is definitely harder, but you get to learn to hack and do all kinds of cool shit. Like Toasters said, there is always a demand for IT guys since the world revolves around computers. It is the highest growing job field out of any besides nurses. With all my certs and an associates degree, I am going to make 40 grand + in my first job alone. I plan to get my bachelors after I graduate. With a bachelor's degree, most jobs on Monster or Careerbuilder that required a Bachelors made around 60-120 grand a year. Basically what it all comes down to is if you go IT, you are set for life with almost no worries about losing your job. |

If you don't want to go the IT route (I personally find it both boring and without room for innovation), I'd suggest you go for electrical/computer engineering. I know you build your own computers (I think), and I'd therefore assume you have some interest in computer hardware. So maybe go for electrical engineering and concentrate on computer architecture (sorta what I plan on doing). There's still demand for electrical engineers.

Go back to school, this will give you the social atmosphere you're looking for. Do something versatile, like find a program than transfers into a bunch of other shit, take some core requirements for a computer program, if you like it great, if not then try something else. And you're not gonna like this buttttttt......... lose the girl. She's hindering your ability to think creatively in terms of "what you want to do" simply because everything you want to do will need to include her in some way. School is a great place to meet hot chicks too =). Oh and why the hell did you move to north bum fuck? Unless you're about to get in touch with your "Davey Crockett" side you're never gonna be happy out there. But this is actually all symptoms of the real problem. You haven't set any goals for yourself. You really should. Even if you abandon them in 6 months for others, you need to set some goals. Any goals. They can be personal, professional, relationshipish, health wise, money wise, whatever. Preferably you should set 1 major one or a couple of minor ones in each category. Set a timeline on it too. Personally I have a set of 1 year, 3 year, 5 year and 10 year goals. So far I've hit all of my 1 year goals except finding a girlfriend, but hey that's the one I wasn't too sure about anyway and am glad I haven't. (although I do need a fucking son someday godamnit, but now would not be the best time, when I'm 30 would be good) So ya do that, lemme know what you come up with. |

I myself am a Computer and Network Security major. Its extremely interesting shit and there's many different parts to specialize in. Also one of the things that i really like about it is i will have to keep going back to school or take courses every couple years to keep up with advancing technology. Like you i do get bored with the same shit but i think this career will offer many opportunities to stay interested. Another pretty kick ass thing is that next year, in order to teach me how to protect computers, they have to teach me how to hack them. Yes you do have to sign an agreement not to use it wrongfully but it's pretty fucking sweet that my teachers are teaching me to hack haha.

Ruskiy Soldat wrote ... u can work for me in 4 years. lol... Toasters, Amped, Knight, Noskill, and everyone else, thanks a bunch guys. Noskill, u know that i wont drop the g/f...lol. But i guess it was worth a shot lol. I have decided to go back to school. Now i have to figure out the best school to go into. I am feeling much better now that i have some "sense" of what to do. I have a goal, and now i have to make it happen. I have thought about Computer Forensics Knight. In high school i wanted to go into Forensic Science. I love science. However, i lost interest cuz it had a lot to do with Physics. When i first started going to school i was majoring in Forensic Psychology. I hated it...lol. So to keep the "Forensic" thing going, i could check out computer forensics. If i dont wanna go too hardcore i will just try out a few IT core courses and see what i think of them. My mother had also mentioned to check out MRI Technician. Its a growing technology and its starting to require more people then are qualified now... Im already halfway there to being certified to work as one. They get paid fairly well, will always have a job no matter where you go, salary is steadily rising each year, and you have advancement opportunities.... and great benefits and mucho overtime. I have a few ideas on where to go. Just gotta take it step by step until i find myself where i want to be. Thanks again guys. You always come through. Im telling you we need to all get together someday and chill and have a beerfest lol. EDIT: Yes i build my own computers. I build my familes and my friends computers. And im DYING to build my dream super computer... but i rather spend the money on a sport bike or down payment on a new car. Oh well..lol. But yea, i keep up to date on new advancements in computer hardware. Edited Mon Apr 06 2009, 11:20AM |
