Site speed im seeing is slowed down by peoples signatures and avatars.

There is no way to limit sizes as the images are on other sites, so I cant control them, all I can do is enable/disable signatures or avatars, or manually go through and change peoples (which im too lazy for)

So, we either disable avatars and sigs, we leave them as they are and accept the slight lag they bring, or if everyone helps out, we can help notify anyone with a large signature or avatar.

Comments needed, this decision has to be in unison.

(to see ur image size, right click and go to properties, avatars should be under 10k, and signatures under 40 or 50k) Edited Wed May 06 2009, 04:00AM

Hmm, I would hope the people of Fish Tank would want to follow the signature size rule to help keep the site at a good speed and keep some goodies.

As far as the xfire signatures are concerned, every signature although the picture is small, the script in the signature has to ask xfire of your status before the page loads. For each xfire sig it does this.

I personally dont mind, my internet is blazing fast. This one is up to FT.
