So my roommate, one of my closest friends and one of the people that I respect above all others, survived testicular cancer. I thought he was fine and healthy, but he had a checkup CAT scan yesterday and there is noticeable growth in his lymph nodes (over a half centimeter growth). He may have an aggressive form of a benign cancer (which can degenerate into a malignant form), he might have scar tissue on his lymph nodes from his testicular cancer, or his cancer spread to the rest of his body. He may need surgery, chemo, radiation, or a combination of the three. I don't know how to react. I've been crying for the last few hours worrying about him. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to feel. I really need someone to talk to... and I don't want to talk to him and worry him. I've got no one else to talk to. Advice? |

Get to know him extremely well, I never knew my Grandma well and it haunts me every day. Have the time of your life with him. Sorry I can't provide anymore advice, truly wish I could help. |

beer lots and lots of beer. When ur done drinking enough beer that could kill a normal man, drink some more. As hard as it may sound, just be there for him. There really is nothing you can do. What you CAN do is coach him through it all, every step of the way. Be his emotional support... God knows, if YOUR feeling like this, i can only imagine how he is feeling. If he is a close friend like you describe, you will do all these things. Do what a friend would do. Good luck buddy, and i wish him well too. |

Dude, talk to him. He needs you now more than ever.Trust me, I had leukemia, I've been in his shoes. Most of my close friends, except for two, were too afraid to come see me. But the two that still talked to me and were always there helped a lot. If you ever need anyone to talk to about it, you can talk to me. I mean so far mine hasnt come back, but I can probably help out at least a little. | ||
