I'm curious to see if im the only one. I want to collaborate if you do, its an odd thought to think how different that can make someone's degree of life. if you read this and mouthed "what the fuck is he talking about" that is normal  however should this sound familiar, speak up!

I use to have a pretty bad underbite. I got it fixed, dentist gave me this brace that basically moved and held my jaw forward. After a while about 7months to a year of wearing it, re-positioned my whole jaw. ( At least I hope this is what you're talking about  )

Well, if I have any overbite at all, my top teeth go in front of my bottom a little bit but they scrape off the bottom's front side (that's how close it is) so I don't even know if you could consider that one. | ||

( At least I hope this is what you're talking about )you are lucky that was an option. did you have braces too or no? did you have a bridge for your upper jaw (spreading across from left molars to the right to spread the top jaws bone? were you a teenager at the time of this procedure? that seems like a much better alternative than the surgery i just had to correct my severe underbite. ( At least I hope this is what you're talking about )Well to go into detail, I was pretty young at the time like 13 or 14. The thing to hold my jaw forward was more of a gum shield type thingy. They basically took a mold of my mouth and I had to get x-rays of my jaw. They custom made the brace thing and what it did was push my bottom jaw forward and held it in place where it should be, I think the body adjusts your jaw to that position so it does not return to being a underbite but I had to keep it in for a while, 6months to a year depending how long you kept the brace in for. ohh, that explain a lot. you had an overbite. your lower jaw was to far behind your upper jaw, or so it sounds. correct me if i am wrong. they were able to correct your problem when you were still growing. In my case; the I knew i was gonna be due for surgery before i was in 5th grade. pediatric dentists saw it from the start. they knew that if they tried to correct it before reaching oral maturity. That in conjunction with 10+ years of braces. overbites, are typically easier to fix or correct. |

I had a slight overbite back in 2003 as well as 1 canine tooth that was all jacked up and my bottom row was crooked. Then I got a job for a dentist and by 2005 I had basically a perfect set of teeth. Cost me like $2,000 when all was said and done, still need to do some more work though, I busted my face once and snapped my 2 front teeth in half so they're half composite now, and I had 1 impacted molar that was removed, so I need 3 implants going forward but that's going to be a few more thousand... gotta make da moniez. | ||

I had a decent overbite which was fixed with a couple years of braces and this device which pulled my upper back molars backwards, thus correcting my overbite. I also had elastics, but I didn't wear them much. Edited Sat May 26 2012, 04:49AM |

Good idea to cuddle butts with a dentist too, noskill by the time im done with my work here it will have been a 13 year journey. and cost me $101,000......yikes |
