Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

The new FT clan voting system has server hour requirements before someone can join FT. This is a good thing, no doubt, but there are some issues about how the number of hours that each player has accumulated are actually calculated. I don't think there are any guarantees about what stats plugins will work with CS:GO. I'm sure the pay services (like what the office server is currently using for CS:S, gameme.com) will have some measure of certainty about providing working stats plugins, and I'm also sure that familiar mods/plugins/etc will work... at some point. Who knows whether this software will work from the first second that we all taste the sweet nectar of CS:GO? Has anyone thought this through? This is one of the few times that server operation intersects with the FT clan. I have a few ideas about how to collect session data, but it's a lot of work. |

what about the hours on the other servers as well? gungame has basic rank, and surf doesnt even have rank. i wouldn't mind putting up the extra dollar per month for gungame, but with cs:go coming out next month i only plan on renewing gg for one more month, and it wouldn't really seem to be worth it if you ask me. but would it be possible to get a simple script to log hours and store it somewhere for quick access?

This is outside the realm of my knowledge but server hours are just a number as far as I'm concerned. I don't need a number to tell me the amount of good times I've had with certain regulars. That's just something you glean from playing on the servers. I think activity on the forums and interaction with the clan via steam friends, etc., is a much more telling sign of a player's dedication to the server and clan. |

Yeah... that's my whole point--office will (probably) be covered by HLSX/gameme.com monitoring. Everyone is on their own at this point. The two solutions I have in mind are: 1. All FT servers send remote logging data to central logging server (similar to how HLSX operates, if you're familiar with it) and session data is stuffed in a database with a script. It should be easy to present session data in a crude format at first. Enough to calculate server hours, at least. If the logging format changes after CS:GO is released it should be easy enough to adapt the data collection script. 2. Continue working on a plugin that I started back in 2008 for "reputation tracking." It basically tracks session data directly thought a SourceMod plugin. KPD, FF kills, and server hours are tracked (among other things) with this SM plugin. I've still got a working prototype, but I'm not entirely certain that it could be unleashed on multiple servers without several more bugfix updates, and who knows how much of the plugin needs to be modified after a stable release of SourceMod comes out AFTER CS:GO is released... too many variables there for me to feel comfortable. Option 1 is the short-term patch and I think option 2 may be long-term. b4ndito wrote ... This is outside the realm of my knowledge but server hours are just a number as far as I'm concerned. Server hours are, however, a requirement for getting into FT. You voted 'yes' for that BTW -[link]- |

You should have mentioned this in the discussion thread if you had any objections...but i strongly appreciate the sentiment =D . I went ahead and started a proposal because i spent 3 days on these forums and witnessed majority of the member list sign on here, comment elsewhere or not comment at all, and then not contribute to the discussion. You could have still voted no. I would not have been a buzzkill. I put a lot of work into it, but i still changed half of it within the discussion. That is what i wanted...i wanted it to be a community Constitution. With that aside, we still need some sort of basis to go off of for membership. You cant track how many steam messages or good conversations you had with someone either. This is why i gave two options for membership too... one that focuses more on forum participation (easily tracked) and the other that focuses more on server hours. As far as server hour tracking goes im not too sure. I am not familiar with any of that shit. I think option 1 in the mean time and maybe if you had the free time later on down the road to perfect your plugin, you could pull an old switcheroo? Hell, if counting server hours becomes an issue and it is hindering membership increases, then im all for voting a new procedure (albeit temporary unless a better has been com up with) to enlist members. I think gametracker (if you claim your server) tracks player stats on your server....think it's free too, for everyone to see. Not 100% of it though.

Oh, Ban-dee-toe... I didn't mean to stir any shit up with you. You know I love you! I agree with you that the quasi-Mexican growls that we have shared should, indeed, be a basis for clan membership. You should know that I'm a masochist when it comes to FT. I like to do things in the most painful way possible because of how stubborn I am about this crap. |
