Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I do MMA aswell, I would defiently reccomend muay thai, dont bother with the snapping kicks of alot of other MA's, the swinging shin kicks of doom are devastating. Watch alot of videos of UFC fights, those thigh kicks that dont look that great will cripple people who arnt trained that hard. But yeah, put on wieght, and alot of it, I weigh more then you, and im skinny, and 5 10. Aim for 180 at least. Get FLEXIBLE. Watch Crocops head kicks, aim for that. Take BJJ. Learn some basic pressure points. Learn how to take a hit, full contact sparring is a must. Learn how to keep your head moving, something many UFC fighters forget. Figure out what your good at, standup? takedowns and grappling? kicking? Play to your strengths. Im small and fast, I like to get close and fight hard and fast, but if i get taken down im gonna pummel away and try not to get submissioned. CARDIO, jumprope, shadow box, run, run, run, box jump, ect. I dont care how strong you are, you gotta be able to keep it up for round after round, and MMA is about the most tiring thing u can do. Umm yeah, i could go on and on, just lemme know or PM me if u want more. | ||

Yea you need to keep moving when you're in the ring. Keep your feet moving, throw alot of distraction jabs, and KEEP YOUR HANDS UP! What i used to do is when me and a friend full contacted sparred no gear we would start with kicks and punches then after about 15-20 minutes got on the floor and went from there. Very good work out that helps you train and works stamina. Also when you go to the gym try to get atleast 30 mins of good Cardio in before you leave. Either before or after you lift. Dont do it between sets or anything. PM me if you need anything. |

I've been doing alot of running lately. I usually run around 7km's a day (to and back from the local tim hortons in the morning). I have an extensive workout plan laid out at the moment. My friend Joey is a Golden Glove boxer, so he's showing me how to box, but ill be going into proffessional training soon enough hopefully. I have a friend who is currently MMA, and he said he'd show me a bit while im still starting up, just to get the basics down on my techniques. I do alot of shadow boxing to quicken my reflex, and i find myself practicing my movement, leaning, and my boxing regularily. My mom's even helping me out, not only by pushing me, but she's helping me with my reflexs (I'll get her to come at me with open palms as fast as she can). I think after hearing your guys' advice, ill be taking kickboxing or Muay Thai as another style, mainly for the leg work. I mainly rely on my speed for fighting, but i have alot of stamina for my size, and i can take a beating like none-other. I have a sparring partner for boxing, except we have a fight every couple months, we have someone ref it, and we go at it. All in all I think that if i try hard i can make something out of this. I have alot of dedication into it, and haven't really been set on something this much before. In reply to the annnorexic comment, i was infact annorexic up until a couple months ago. I also have an extremely high metabolism that doesn't allow me to gain much weight, which actually bugs me alot. amishburrito wrote ... That was sarcasm, I was gonna say that im sick of all my friends coming to me for literally everything
hmmmm mibu's words last night were "i know what i want to do for a career! i want to be a shrink! (psychiatrist)" |

I'm 5'10 and 150lbs.. I thought I was skinny. I am fuckin strong though, and I can take a beating (older brothers). But Night... 5'0 158lbs? WTF? May I suggest that endurance is worth it more than strength in a fight? You need to be strong enough to support yourself and shit like that but after that if you get the endurance down thats what keeps you alive in fights (sit-ups, pushups, chinups, running, maybe jump rope) bench your own weight then do reps of that, you dont need to go for 200+lbs unless you need to fight people that weigh that much and go jumping on you. |

Jesus[tzahal wrote ... I've been focusing alot on my stamina / endurance lately, i can last a decent amount of time against guys my size, but if you're bigger than me there's no way ill be able to last very long. I'm not bad with my stamina, but i do have ALOT of room for improvement at this moment in time.
