I think that a reg map rotation server is a much more worthy endeavour than any mods of any nature... For the most part mods turn out to be simple and exploitable, for the n00bs that can't play the actual game right :d Still have nightmares of the WC3 mods *shudder* |

umm wel lthat server redirects you to wc3 if the first 2 gungames are full and gungames are allways pretty much full. |

well... I wasn't suggesting at all that I wanted to throw money at the situation. What I was saying is I would be willing to learn what it takes to start/run a good server, then consider whether or not it was something worth investing in. | ||

Or get a 100 tick server for the regular maps, and I agree, that if anything we need to have a regular map placement server, cause if we're gonna play CAL, we need to get used to the reg maps, 100 tick server's (although quite expensive, just a suggestion) are way better. But I think we should all remember how much money/maintainance/time it takes to keep a great server like FTC2 running. Thanks alexh. | ||

With the amount of members being brought in the clan lately, it wouldn't be out of line to request donations, or put a link to a PayPal account on the site. This is strange coming from me, considering how young I am, it would be very hard for me to make any sort of donation. But, if I had the money, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving a little bit. Overall, I don't think there is much need for another server. Sure, having new mods would be fun; but as of right now, we have a "Regular Map Rotation" server waiting in the wings. We should wait and see if that server is popular enough to maintain a keep up, or maybe we could turn that into one of the new mods. It's fine to suggest, but there really shouldn't be any sort of demand for a new server, as Alex has done a fine job in maintaining these servers with little to no funding coming from us. Thanks and well said, Burt. If the practice server is utilized more and appears suitable then we'll just dedicate that entirely to practice/scrims. I've thought about asking for donations but I'm not sure if I want to do that yet. Please keep in mind that Narf pays to keep FTS up and running, and kremit pays for this website. |
