I disagree, i don't think it's interesting. i find that it's very logical that when you're about to die, you want to cover all bases... when you're about to die you're afraid that you will go to hell, or that your existence in its entirety is about to be completed. Seems like the perfect time to become religious.. | ||

Religion is the opiate of the people. I spreads false hopes to those that believe in it that their lives will be better, but actually, they are the same. They are just remarking on the world. Making a comment, that's all. |

Unless of course, the person has a near death experience and witnesses the mishap for themselves. Of course, there are the atheists and other people who will try and spew out scientific explanations because they refuse to believe something. You believe what you want, your life, not mine. | ||

Your right it could be they saw religion they could also have had fear of death. Nothing makes you feel powerless more then facing your own death. Of course there are the religious and the gullible that will spew out faith instead of looking at science because they refuse to believe in the rules their own god created. Look if there is a god he created cause and effect the base of science. Science is a attempt to understand the world and the rules that were placed down on it. I see since the religious debate you still are to narrow minded to see religion and science walking hand in hand. nether one of them denies or even contradicts the other unless your very literal in your translation of holy books. I personally think that this is just them reflecting on their life and all they have done and of course they will feel a power. Death has a way to make you feel mortal and vonerable and as if you were being judged. I would know I been near death a few times. Everyone repents on their death bed they all feel something about their life that is wrong in this case they think they lacked religion. If I were god I would understand that without making it clear I am really there no one can know for sure and there for it wouldn't matter. What would matter to me would be how you lived your life not what you did or did not have faith in. To me these athious going all religious before they die would be like a kick to the nuts to me if I were god. They spend their whole life saying I don't exist and then before they die find religion to save their hides from eternal damnation. In my mind this would get you damned a lot worse then just sticking to your guns. Night you really got to stop viewing things to black and white when nothing is clear. Everything is just a shade of gray with religion and so you should not only embrace your fate but try to understand things that are not of your faith. You should see how god can be involved in things thought to counter him. Science is not the death of religion but rather a search for answers some of which are part of religion like who created us. The answer could very well lead to god in the end. God could very well have planed that we would evolve in this way and that would not only satisfy science but also religion. People with weak faith are often the ones that try to proclaim their faith alone and never look at anything else; People with strong faith look not only at their own but at all the other thoughts and show compassion to those of different believes. |
