I have this in the Schooling Fish forum because i want everyone to vote on this. Noskill, you said you wanted someone to do something... well now i am. You can read my latest post about switching over to another game, and about revamping FTC -[link]- I advise reading that before you vote. So lets have at it. This is a community issue, so lets have an unofficial community vote as to what we should do about this. I want everyone in on this. Should we switch to another game? Should we Revamp FTC with new shit such as different classic maps? Brainstorming needed. Should we keep it the same as is, and hope for a seasonal change when people come back from vacations and beaches and shit? Should we make a completely new server? Keep H&S as our main? Make a custom rotation? Do people want to download a lot of shit? Should we buy an already populated server? Lets have at it. Choose FTC's fate. P.S. BTW, the money that was put in for FTC's subscription should go to that no matter what. They payed for it, they should get it. IDC what anyone says. WELL Just to be different, I'm going to say... Rotation, with some custom maps? Because, even if you do have three or four of the same maps. It gets boring after a while. We could have SOME custom maps, but mostly play the Classic shit, since it is FTC. As for the new mods, don't go over board and shit. Bank is a good idea but, it is sort of cheap to the new players who join and everyones running around fully decked out every round. Music could work, but you'd have to have a large list of music, and it'd be a bitch to download... I think. All talk while dead? I dunno how that worked out, but maybe it could work differently that time around? |

This rotation would REPLACE FTC? or would we have four servers now? If we'd have four servers, fuck that... we don't have enough people playing to generate traffic in two servers... That said, I think it's the PEOPLE that we need, not a switch in maps... but shit, if everyone will play after we switch to rotation, then go for it. |

The fact that FTC is office is not the reason it is dead. I love playing office and since FTC has been dieing and impossible to get people mid-day I have been playing other office servers that do fine. While in some of those I have run into others who asked me "what is up with FTC?" so they want to play on it but we don't have enough willing to populate on at the same time. If it was more than 1 or 2 people asking me then I would have had them jump with me to FTC and get things started. But like noskill said, people don't like playing 1v1 2v2 kind of stuff. So they wanted to stay on the 8v8 server. My point being, it isn't the fact that it's an office server that hurts it. It's that everyone just wants it to be populated and they don't try to populate it. I understand not wanting to sit there for hours doing 1v1 kind of stuff till it gets going. I tried it a while and it sucks. How about getting together with people and deciding on a time to all get on so that you instantly have 8 or so people on. Then play for a while to populate and get new connections. Or old connections that have not been coming on because they see the server dead. That could work, but no one tries it. I would have but I have a hectic schedule and i have no idea when I can play next. And to be honest, I doubt many of the people on here crying about how much they love FTC would really be willing to go through with it. My other post about not realizing when people are crossing the line and stopping themselves also hurts when trying to keep the server populated. Noskill is absolutely right, you can say all you want about what you can do, but if people aren't actually doing anything then there is no point. I like playing FTC, so if you come up with a plan and can actually get people to go along with it i'll try to show when i can. I hope you get it going. However, I have to say that I think most of this clan is all smoke and no meat. To many people that are all words and no action. Hope i'm wrong. |

Clone East Coast Guardians custom map rotation and I'll play on it. I didn't see a vote option for that. But uh, remember, the server and what it does is only a fraction of the battle. The battle is getting a minimum of 12 people, dedicated to populating the server on a regular (daily) basis. My whole thing is, why would I spend 3 hours of my time in 3v3 when I can join another server with the same maps/features and play 16v16??? NEW SUGGESTION. Buy an existing, already populated server. |
