Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a new comp, as mine = shit. Does anyone know or have any experience with this kind of computer, or have any reason I shouldn't get one? Just making sure no one has any problems on one or thinks these are really bad computers (I do expect to get flamed with "DELLS ARE SHIT DONT GET ONE", too bad )? Thanks. |

Reasons not to get one? Sure. Gaming computers are, in almost all cases, much cheaper when you build them yourself. A rig you build your self will also be much better than any dell you can buy. Overclockability is one of the main reasons for this. To put an example out there, my CPU, an Opteron 144(stock 1.8GHz), is overclocked to 2.75GHz. This is almost a 1GHz gain in clock speed, which makes an incredible difference. Building your rig yourself also allows for much easier upgrading. You will also know every nut and bolt of your machine, so it's easier to diagnose problems, and get the right parts that suit you. Dells aren't bad computers. Their gaming line is decent. But if you want more than decent, at a cheaper price, please IM me, and I'll help you out. <3 -Amped (life long supporter of the art of building and overclocking) |

Well, I'm getting this one for 700 dollars, and the one I'm getting comes with 2 gigs of RAM. I would build a computer myself, but I don't have the time to go out and get all the parts and such. It sounds really fun though, I might do it as a "summer project" next summer though. Thanks anyway |

If you've ever heard of Widow pc's (They put Alienware to sleep), they are pretty cheaper than most pc's that you buy that are just shitty desktops. -[link]- Check that out, and build your pc for the hell of it on there, they give you a price for it and offer a bunch of options. They are probably the best pc's to date.

I bought a Dell 3 years ago, and it gave me nothing but clenched teeth. First, my card went out in about 2 months, then my hard drive went, and then for some reason, they formatted it wrong, and I could make no upgrades. Everything was a complete mess. Right now I have an HP, and we are in happiness together

well Emerican has a dell, and it kicks ass. however, he does not know the EXact price, I would say it costed him around $3,000. On top of that though, his 3.49 Ghz Pentium 4 is a powerhouse, and makes up for his low end x300se hyper-memory GPU. overall that computer kicks ass, and Dell definatly knows what they are doing. Also, even if you don't know what is wrong if you get a dell or a widow, you can just send it into dell rather then stripping the computer or replacing a part. Warrentees on the entire dell computer are more handy then every part warrenteed in your own rig. Although, if you were to get a custom built one, and you don't know much about it, I would have someone help you, eg: your local computer shop or a techy friend. Your custom built PC will make you feel much better about yourself as well because you picked out every single component, rather than having to take apart the side pannel to figure out who makes your motherboard if you got a dell, since they wont tell you up front. Do what you want, there are benifets (and drawbacks) on both sides. |
